  1. Hey guys, I've just gotten my new Noctua NH-D15s and I've been trying to overclock my CPU to ~ 4.5 - 4.6 GHz. I'm still running stress tests but I think I've managed to clock the CPU to 4.5GHz @ 1.336 Volts (VCore) stable, with the temps not rising above 73 degrees C. I believe the VCore is a little high for Skylake or the 6700k in particular, but I simply can't get lower than that, without crashing. Would you guys consider that a "safe" overclock? Or is 1.336V too much for the CPU for a 24/7 overclock? The info on the web is really vague imo. Thanks
  2. I've paid a little less than the average, but that's because it came without the original box. But I don't think that I've been ripped off because he's still in contact with me and I told him about the small problem. He said that if I can't fix it and it bothers me too much, I can just return it to him and get the money back immediately. He also said that before I bought it, that if there should be annything wrong with it, I could just return it. So I trust him.
  3. Hey guys. Just yesterday I've received my "new" 6700k. I bought it used from craigslist and the previous owner said, that he never had any problems whatsoever with the CPU. So, I installed it and fired up Windows. Everythings works like a charm. The only exception is, that sometimes when the CPU spikes to a 100% usage, the mouse/screen just keeps locked and unresponsive for 1-3 seconds. I never had that happen with my old 6600k. So my question is, is this normal?? Is this something that can happen or does this automatically mean, that the CPU is faulty? I mean, the System runs just fine for hours without a single freeze or similar and I would think that a faulty CPU would show itself in something like a complete shutdown of the system or bluescreens. The only thing that happend were these short mouse-locks sometimes. Re-installed Windows Newest BIOS version Newest Chipset-Driver Newest Nvidia Driver Temps are fine ~ 70C max GTX1070FE MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Motherboard 16GB DDR4 Ram 750 Watt Corsair PSU So long story short. Is this normal? Can this happen? Am I being overreactive because this hasn't happend before? Does anyone else have the same issue? Cause I'm thinking about returning the CPU but I'm not sure if this is just a common thing and will happen with another CPU also.
  4. Hey guys! I just bought a used 6700k on the German version of craigslist, to replace my 6600k. The CPU arrived today and to test it, I fired up Cinebench and Prime95. I noticed that during the test (in cinebench only right before it finishes) my mouse/the whole system gets stuck for 2-5 seconds. I haven’t noticed the issue when just browsing the internet or similar. I tried it with stock speed and with an underclock to 3.5 GHz. The problem still persists. I just installed the newest chipset driver from my mobo’s website but that didn’t help either. It’s nothing big, but I didn’t have that issue with my “old” i5. Has anyone had similar issues and knows a (possible) fix? 5. Hey guys, I've been thinking about taking my new Hardware, which currently sits in an S340, and putting it into an old (really old) PC-case. But I really struggle to find anything that fits my needs. Preferrably I'm looking for a case like this: It can also be a case from the Windows 95-98 - era, but I'm very unsure what to google/look for. I struggle to find any names, brands or case specific model-numbers. So, if you could help me out here and suggest some cases (and maybe also where to find them), that would be super cool. Thanks
  6. Hmm oh well. Thanks for your answers. That helped a lot. I think I will just order the Nh-D15s and if the card doesn't fit, then I'll just move it down to the second slot. Thanks!
  7. @Minibois But in the Manual it says, that I only have a single 16x port. The other two are 8x and 4x. It says that on page 14. Or do I misunderstand that whole concept?7984v1.0(G52-79841X7)(Z170A GAMING PRO)EURO.pdf But in the Manual (which I have attached to this post) it says, that I only have a single 16x port. The other two are 8x and 4x. It says that on page 14. Or do I misunderstand that whole concept? @wONKEyeYEs Oh nice, I didn't know that such thing existed. But it's only single-fan, hence it won't have as good a cooling performance as the original D15, right?
  8. Hej you guys, I own a GTX 1070 FE with the Accelero Extreme IV aftermarket cooler. Just today I bough a used i7-6700k, to replace my i5-6600k. I have a very cheap CPU cooler, and therefore, together with my CPU upgrade, I want to replace it. I've looked at the Noctua NH-D15. The price/performance ratio looks great. But the thing is, I don't think, that an NH-D15 and an accelero extreme IV with the backplate, will fit into my nzxt s340! (If anyone here has this config and got it to work, please let me know). So my question is, can I move my 1070 down to the second PCIe slot to make everything fit? Or will that decrease my performance? I have an Z170A Gaming Pro board from MSI. Thanks
  9. Ahh sweet! That might be the solution that I'm going for!
  10. I can't upload pictures right now, but will do in the evening. My Specs though: - i5 6600K @ 4.2GHz - GTX1070 - 16GB DDR4 Ram - Z170a Gaming Pro Motherboard - Samsung 840 Evo @ 256Gb I really hope that someone knows some sort of adapter or similar...
  11. Hey guys, I have a small problem here... I recently bought the Accelero Xtreme IV cooler from Arctic, for my new GTX1070, because I wasn't satisfied with the reference cooler that it came with. The cooler fits perfectly on the card and it cools the card (e)xtremely good Problem now is, that due to the backplate cooler that comes with the Accelero Xtreme, I can't get the JUSB3 connector to fit into the motherboard, which means that the front USB connectors of my Case do not work. Is there any way I could fix that? Maybe with an adapter or some re-wireing technique? I happy to hear your suggestions!
