  1. I added a SMSL M400 DAC, started using a desktop PC to play music and got high resolution audio files for the music I want. Also, added a Dayton Audio Sub. The system sounds great now Thank you all for replying.
  2. proof is in the pudding. I will post pictures of happy customers here (with their permission, off-course). Cheers.
  3. smaller because its faster for the user to reach their destination more expensive because its not a bus, its a premium service
  4. I am with you on the WFH debate and I see its benefits for individuals and organizations. I just don't see it being adopted as quickly. about BlockBuster, they already had a business running, I am starting one. The disruption that I see coming for my case is, Tesla Full Self Driving robotaxi network but I can use it to replace the driver as and when it becomes available. in fact thats a big reason I am opting for Teslas.
  5. all cities are not created equal. I am glad it works for you in Australia. In most US/Canadian cities, it doesn't.
  6. you make some good points about Canadian economy and I understand that people are under financial stress. Having said that, working from home is not going to become the new norm after covid, it may increase by 20 to 30 percent but a majority of suburban people will still need to go to work . I am planning to launch the service after covid is gone. hopefully soon. about the truck, sure if thats what you want, go for it but thats only a personal preference. A lady with 2 kids would rather not drive to office if that option was available to her. I know, that the example I gave, may also be niche but at the start I don't need a huge number of subscribers. people will use the service more and more as they recognize the value it brings. Then, I can sell it on Dargon's Den / Shark Tank
  7. you are buying comfort, it wont be the cheapest option.
  8. the service is aimed at people living in sub urban areas more than 40 KMs away from the city who are currently (pre/post covid) are driving to work. it makes a lot of sense for them. If they drive to work: 1) drive for an hour or more 2) find a parking spot 3) pay for the parking / pay monthly parking (if they pay monthly then #2 doesn't apply) 4) they can be a bit fatigued by the time they are in the office 5) drive back to home in heavy traffic
  9. the bus can't drop you at the office door, it would take too long, nobody would want to be the last person to get dropped. Luxury interior doesn't solve that problem.
  10. No. it's not a Limo. It is a subscription for commute for people in suburbs (40 KM away or more).
  11. I don't have AI and ML experience but I can contract it out to a 3rd party. The cost gets easier to justify with each mile/km of the commute...like I said above 40 KM, it makes a lot of sense. UberX wont pick you up in a suburban area 50 KMs away from the city. You are sharing the car with neighbours (not strangers) because people living close to you, are most likely to be in the same car as you. Also, it is much better than sharing a bus with 50 strangers. you care about the driver and other passengers being the same, there is a trust that develops over time. this is very important for the service to succeed. I am glad that you are giving this idea ample thought. about the driver, he/she would cost 17/hour to the company that includes hourly pay and other expenses like CPP. my accoutant said it is generally hourly pay + 1.8% of the hourly pay for the total cost. the driver would be part time (up to 6 hours a day). They would take 3 people for the first trip and another 3 for 2nd trip and the same for returning. so, a total of 6 passengers can be served per car. If we assume CAD 700 for the subscription, each car would generate $4200 a month in revenue. expenses would be : 1) driver's salary 2) commercial insurance 3) charging cost 4) Income Tax 5) EMI for the car loan
  12. valid concerns...I am planning to use AI and ML to solve the co-ordination issues when the subscriber pool is big enough. I know, chicken and egg :)................ but I am pretty confident that I can get the first few subscribers in the same area.
  13. if people hate, thats their problem. nobody can tell you, how to spend your money. the salary you get as a govt employee is given to you because you perform your duties, it's not a handout.
  14. all 3 of the passengers will be from the same zip/postal code. that reduces 3 cars on the road. Thanks for the response.
  15. On average, people go to the office 22 days a month (excluding work from home). if you need to use the service on a weekend, it can be available but I don't expect a high percentage of subscribers to go to their offices on a weekend.
  16. I don't think that argument makes a lot of sense. Govt. employee or not, all people have a right to spend their income as they please. as long as there is no corruption involved, I don't see how a government employee using this service would offend people.
  17. thanks for the response, though I have the same question as dalekphalm. What do the 7 and 4 represent in your calculation?
  18. as a user of this service, you are buying convenience and comfort. it doesnt have to be the cheapest option, just needs to be comparable. Model S is a comfortable car.
  19. 700 is based on the calculations that I did for the expenses. I understand that it is not for everyone but it makes sense for a lot of people. you are buying convenience. the more driving distance you have for the commute, more sense it will make for you personally. 40 - 50 KM is the sweet spot. Thanks for the response.
  20. please see my response below. this service eliminates the need for a 2nd car. thanks for the response.
  21. think of it this way, if you have a family where husband and wife are both working, they generally have 2 cars. 1 of those cars is used mostly for commute. this service can ***replace** the 2nd car. having said that, I realize that not everybody can afford it. Thanks for the response.
  22. good question. It would be useful when people are commuting from sub-urban areas like Embrun, Limoges, Casselman etc. when the driving distance is about 50 KM each way, then this service makes a lot of sense. you are not paying for parking/gas/car maintenance and you are not driving. Though I am starting it in Ottawa, it makes sense for any metro area and people are welcome to start it in their home city. Thanks for the response.
  23. Hello Forum, ********after covid is gone************* I am planning to start a new business in Ottawa - Gatineau area. This would be a commute solution. - (subscription based service) The aim is to simplify the commute for users while reducing the number of cars on the road and air pollution. How it works: for a monthly fee, a driver will pick you up from your house and drop you at the office door. In the evening, the same driver will take you home. You will always have the same driver picking you up and he/she will be bilingual. There would be up to 3 passengers per car. You don't need to worry about driving, parking, car maintenance, clearing up the driveway (on a winter morning) etc. which cars? it's gonna be S3XY. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
  24. thanks dude. i found this based on your post and it worked . Xbox one controller works flawlessly, even in the menu, if you use x360ce. Download the 32bits version ( google it), copy x360ce.exe in the game folder. Open x360ce.exe with your xbox one controller plugged in. It should configure itself automatically. I got it working by doing this: Select Game Settings Tab --> pick SplitSecond.exe --> under Hook Mask check these options: COM; LL; DI; PIDVID (this should do the same thing as InputHook set to 2 in older versions of x360ce); Xinput file set to 1.3 32bit https://github.com/x360ce/x360ce/releases/download/3.2.9.82/x360ce_x86.zip https://github.com/x360ce/x360ce#system-requirements
