  1. I would love 16Gb of RAM as well, unfortunately budget is tight. So I will probably go for 8Gb for now and add another 8Gb later. The only problem is I'm afraid I won't be able to find the exact same RAM I'm using and will be forced to buy another brand. I only hope it won't cause any error for my system.
  2. I'm actually more worried about screen tearing when my GPU processes more than 60fps and my monitor can't catch up. Is there a way to prevent that?
  3. Ah okay. Would you recommend getting a new 120hz to 144hz monitor for this particular graphics card? Or can I still stick to a 60hz monitor?
  4. I just realised another problem. My monitor is only running at 60hz, which i assume it can only display up to 60 frames per second? If so, wouldn't the additional VRAM be too excessive for my current setup?
  5. They dont have to be the same brand right? Anything I need to take note of when adding additional RAM?
  6. So games do require RAM and VRAM. Thanks for the clarification! I'm currently on a budget here so if it is not necessary and if possible I will be going for 8GB with the plan to add another 8GB in the future. Which brings about another question, can I just add ram just like that? Will there be any complications if I add RAM say 6 months after my PC is built?
  7. So even thought there is only a slight performance drop (5-10%) for 3GB model, you would find that it is worth getting the 6GB model instead? But back to my question, does 1080p gaming really require more than 3GB of RAM?
  8. Hello! After browsing through tons of youtube videos I'm stuck between choosing 8GB and 16GB of RAM. I'm still uncertain on which applications actually uses RAM. Does the game I play use RAM or just VRAM? I usually have over 30 tabs open on chrome, I play a variety of games from MMORPG to FPS, I watch tons of videos, and I download alot of content. Do all of the activities above require a large amount of RAM?
  9. Thanks! However I read that the GTX 1060 is ideal for 1080p gaming and maybe 1440p. I will probably be gaming at 1080p as my monitor is only FHD. At that resolution do I really need 6GB?
  10. Which one should I get? Its about a $60 price difference in my area. Still new to PC building, hope to learn something here!
