  1. Mhm I'll see how much longer this 480 can hold out for and see what we get in a few months, if not I'll check out the 5700's. Cheers.
  2. Hey guys it's been a long while since I've been active within the tech community, so I'm a little out of touch with that the "best" is right now. To put it into context, when I was last active on here the best mainstream setup you could have was a 1080TI and 7700K, lol. Anyhow onto the question, as the title says I'm due an upgrade from my rx480 as its starting to struggle in the games that I want to play and is starting to have more pushing issues such as persistent screen flickering and sometimes artifacting issues. So far i've found a 2060 super -https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/NVIDIA+GeForce/GeForce+RTX+2060+Super/Gigabyte+NVIDIA+GeForce+RTX+2060+SUPER+8GB+WINDFORCE+OC+Turing+Graphics+Card?productId=71541&utm_source=uk.pcpartpicker.com&utm_medium=referral And a 2070 - https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/NVIDIA+GeForce/GeForce+RTX+2070/Palit+NVIDIA+GeForce+RTX+2070+8GB+Dual+Turing+Graphics+Card?productId=72108&utm_source=uk.pcpartpicker.com&utm_medium=referral The 2060 super is £381 and the 2070 is £383 so I'd probably choose the 2070 as I assume its better?. But my question is, my budget is up around £450-£500, is there any other options within that price point? I'm more than open to another AMD card as this 480 has served me very well for around 3 years now. If anyone has any input please let me know, also does anyone know if that Aria site is legit? I've seen it quite alot here in the UK but never personally ordered from them, seems a little sketchy with how cheap they are compared to other retailers.
  3. Also depends on the radiator size, thickness and fin density. Even the coolant used can make a slight difference.
  4. Looking at general HP Notebook 15 motherboards there are some with 1 and some with 2 slots. Knowing the exact model would help.
  5. Presumably this happened because the account got stolen/hacked and false listings were made(given the "item listings have been removed" part) You'd probably have more luck emailing rather than phoning them. Bit of an odd one though as I've had the above happen personally but my account was never banned for it, just had to update my password and recovery information so they were secure.
  6. Tried with overclocks on and off, crashes either way on both FH3 and 4 still.
  7. No, if they were able to be used as a mic that'd be a selling point for them as it'd be a built in mic, I highly doubt there'll be a mic in there without you already knowing from when you bought them.
  8. Looking for a bit of help if anyone knows a solution for this, after about 15-20 attempts I've still not made it past the opening race as it crashes before I get chance to even finish that. sometimes I cant even get into the race, it'll crash on the loading screens. Had the exact issue with FH3 however that would let me play for 10-15 minutes before crashing. Running a Ryzen 1600 at 3.6Ghz, 16GB corsair vengeance ram at 2800mhz, and an xfx rx480 at stock speeds(all temps are fine when crash occurs) this is the error as show in windows event viewer. Tried all the fixes I've found online, disabling microphone for the game, upping page file limit(upped it from disabled(0) to 10GB, doesn't even use my whole 16GB actual ram though), setting the games priority to high in task manager, having nothing else running, updated to most recent gpu drivers and tried older versions, lowering settings(tried on ultra, high, medium and low) even did a fresh windows install last night and it's still crashing.
  9. I'm not seeing a 6500 score difference, only 6 on the system score, and given that the 6 point difference is less than 5% of the overall score, its likely just a margin of error. Can't base a theory off running a test just once with each setting, gotta do it quite a few times, work out the averages, and then it might have some weight behind it.
  10. 16GB ram should be more than enough, and you can manually set your pagefile size, odd that its at 20GB though. I'd have a guess that because the pagefile is at 20GB for whatever reason, that's why its actually using it, because it sees that the space is there, rather than clearing the memory it just dumps it into the pagefile.
  11. You'll be fine for CS:GO with that CPU, but the rest not so much. And you're gonna be wanting a 1070/1080 for 100+fps at high/ultra settings.
  12. Personally I think its great that Oneplus will be the first to feature this, as mentioned its normally the likes of Samsung that will get "first dibs" on new mobile hardware. Also, new OnePlus phone announced? On the other hand I'm a little peeved about it, having only bought my 6 in July this year, with the next one launching so soon, it'll mean again being 2 models behind after not even a year. I honestly thought they'd have stopped the incremental 6 month "refreshes" by now, but it seems not And for anyone wanting to read more about the 855 chip - https://www.theverge.com/2018/12/5/18127689/qualcomm-snapdragon-855-ai-connectivity-performance-features Sources - https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/oneplus-7-will-be-the-first-phone-to-feature-a-snapdragon-855 And Facebook for the image/link.
  13. Are you plugged into the display outputs on your motherboard or GPU?
  14. Mhm i'll definitely be considering that 3600/3600X. the step up from a 1600 to 2600/2600x wasn't worth it, but that just might be.
  15. If you're running a 1080 you don't really want a "budget" PSU Search around on local sites for any tier 1/2 models from this list.
  16. Every page you want the CSS to apply to, needs to have the CSS tag and be linked the the CSS file inside that, so if you only put it on the index page, it'll only apply the CSS to that page.
  17. Even my 1600 + 480 can run CS:GO 1080p at about 200 fps average whilst streaming at 1080p 60-fps
  18. Yeah i've seen RAM labeled as VR ready in the past..
  19. Agree'd with Enderman, definitely not old enough to class as a fossil if it's using SATA. If it was using IDE on the other hand..
  20. In theory, yes, it will fit. But it depends what chipset you're looking at, 1xx chipsets will possibly need a BIOS update, 2xx chipsets it will work just fine, and 3xx/4xx chipsets it won't work at all.
  21. Happy birthday Peep

  22. Aslong as they're the same speed and timings they will be able to run as quad channel. But just so you know, LGA 1151 doesn't support quad channel memory. You'd be running as 2 dual channels(channel A and B), which isn't the same. But that also means that as long as the 2 sticks in each channel match, they will run as dual channel, so buying 2 kits and having them be slightly different(you still want same speed and timing) won't matter, so long as you pair the correct sticks to the correct slots.
  23. I remember there was a time where you had to pay for WhatsApp, got the first year free then you had to pay(though it was easy to get around). That's going back quite a few years as I was still in high school and I finished 5 years ago now. There was no ads back then though whether you paid or not.
  24. Thats... odd. Seems more like a novelty thing than an actual feature, "look, my screen slides off so i can use the front camera!"
