  1. Thanks for the reply guys!! Seems there are no laptops with both 8th gen and Max-q available yet. I'm sure this combination will give the best power to battery life to portability balance. Laptops I considered aside from the ones mentioned are: - Acer Nitro 5 spin (though has 1050 only) - MSI GS63VR stealth Pro (though has 7th gen & 4hr battery life, if only HDD can be swapped for bigger battery) - Hp Omen 15 (crappy 3hr battery life) - Aftershock prime 15 (battery life, 7th gen) - Dell inspiron 7000 gaming (1050ti, 7th gen, battery life weak) So I guess if battery life is my main consideration, the best compromise would be the aero 15 or the XPS 15?
  2. Hi all, I have been doing research to replace my heavy 5 year old laptop but I really could not find any laptop that has specs that I'm satisfied with. Greatly appreciate your help to find one that is close or the next best!! Price is not an issue. Thank you so much Specs in order of priority: 1) Battery: around 6hrs doing light work (surf web, using MC Office) 2) CPU: Intel 8th Gen 3) Weight & form factor: Less than 2kg, portable (max 2.4kg) 4) Resolution: 4k (1080p if no choice) 5) Screen size: 14" (ideal) or 15" 6) GPU: at least Nvidia Max Q 1060 (light gaming and CAD) 7) RAM: 16GB (at least) 8) Storage: 500GB SSD (at least) 9) Brand: no preference
  3. Hi, I am facing 2 possibly related issues. 1. Halfway through using the computer, the screen would black out and monitor would say "no video input" 2. I try to boot up the computer but the display shows "no video input" For both issues the PC is still powered up, the lights are all running. The stopgap measures i used to overcome the above issues are as such 1. Off/On the PSU 2. Re-plug in the HDMI display cable. 3. Change the display port from HDMI to DVI and back. Occasionally these methods would work and the PC is able to boot successfully. I previously ran Prime 95 and Furmark for 6hrs without issue. Attached are the data I have gathered after a crash occurred.
