Watch, it's going to have a smart connector on the back and they'll sell dongles to add back the lightning connector. And then Belkin will launch a better version that has the lightning port AND still allows wireless charging.

Maybe this one will make an upgrade from Haswell-E worthwhile.

While you pulled the trigger a bit soon IMO, the way things have been going the last half decade, the 3700X will still be relevant.

Most software calculates storage differently than drive manufacturers.
Drive manufacturers calculate and advertise storage in multiples of 1000.
Software usually does multiples of 1024, but too often they incorrectly use KB, MB, GB, and TB, when they should be using KiB, MiB, GiB, and TiB.

False equivalence.
Wireless is inferior due to the physical properties of viable building materials.

That's how it's always going to be, unless manufacturers intentionally cripple charging by wire. The materials used to make phones and pads have far higher resistance than copper, meaning you'll always need more energy to overcome that resistance.
Wireless charging is simply inferior.

Unless we move to exposed metal coils on the pad and phone with direct electrical transfer, no, we won't. There are electrical components in both the base pad and phone that require power in order for wireless charging to even work in the first place. These chargers are essentially electromagnets with power regulators, those things don't run on pixie dust.

I have a fairly new Qi charger.
It sits in a drawer because it's a piece of shit compared to charging by cable.
