  1. Hey there folks, so while sick mother nature decided to kick me while down and make me have a coughing fit so hard I spilled my tea over my laptop. A old ThinkPad from 2018. Now I am looking for a budget replacement. It shouldn't be to heavy so I can carry it around to and from Uni and it be great if I could use it for some light Indi gaming. If there was support for a dock it be great. I was considering another ThinkPad as I got my last one used at this store, and I have no issues with getting another refurbished device, but I am simply overwhelmed by the amount of options and don't quite grasp what CPU name means what or is better. I would be deeply grateful if you could give this sicko a recommendation.
  2. I did, 400W should only be tight on full load of the CPU which outside of artificial loads shouldn't happen. I found the issue though. I simply didn't push in the ram hard enough. Which is weird as the pins where already fully covered.
  3. So I helped a friend build his new PC and it does not post. The parts are: ASRock H270 Pro4 Motherboard Intel i5 7500 CPU (LGA1151 socket) Asus GForce GTX 1050Ti GPU ( Connected to monitor via HDMI) Bequiet! System Power 8 400W PSU Ben Nevis Heatpipe CPU cooler from Alpenföhn Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 4GB (2 sticks each 4GB but only one is in atm in slot 2) Seagate 1TB HDD drive On start up it gives three long beeps ( repeating) which should be CPU fan speed to low. Hitting the reset button removed that error, but doesn't post. I removed the cmos jumper. It shorts the motherboard as intend if intended put in the proper place. Removing the GPU to see if power draw is to high didn't change anything. Moving the Ram to slot 1 doesn't change anything either. I checked the cords and all are plugged in properly and I reapplied thermal paste to the CPU to be sure. Anyone got an idea what it might be? edit: I forgot to mention the beeps also happen with the stock cooler. edit2: Fixed the issue. Apparently you really need to push the ram down. with the rubber coat the Vengeance ram has it looked fully covered, but wasn't .
  4. So my phone is truly outdated now. Rocking a Galaxy Nexus for the last 5 or 6 years it is more then about time to get a new one. However I am really torn between the selection. For one I am looking for a phone with a long battery life and a good screen to read on/browse the web with. That is the main use for me. I really liked my Nexus phone and stock android till I got into putting costume stuff on it. So the ability to do that or at the very least something as close as stock android would be nice. The Cameras aren't to important, but should be good to take the occasional pic for Uni or of cute animals. You know the serious stuff. Price wise my budget is around 400€ if possible a bit lower. More only if the device is offering things others don't around the price. Thanks for the help
  5. @LastThoughts I will give it a try, I manged to somehow fix some issues, but some are still there. @Vortez Yes it has.
  6. @LastToughts: I didn't use DDU. What difference does it make? @Rohit Jackdaw I will do that and report back
  7. @LastThoughts Like I said in my reply to @Redsun20 the fans do kickin sometimes and as I can't install the Fan control ( again telling me no MSI car present) I can't tweak it.
  8. It might be the air flow. I have one fan in the front, one in the top and one going out to the back through a watercooling unit for my CPU. Since I booted it up today I also noticed no program recognizes the GPU anymore, i get weird lags and load issues and that my internet isn't working well on my PC alone.
  9. So let me first start out with that this is my first gaming rig so if I sound like a big noob sorry. I got the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming 8G and it is just acting weird. I can't install the utilities via the DVD as it tells me there is no MSI card. The card how ever is working with the latest drivers. First I let Gforce experince update them and then I tried manually. So I am very unsure what is going on. The card sits in idle at around 50°C having only Firefox open with one tab. The fans are constantly going, yet the temperature keeps climbing even if I do nothing. Watching a youtube video. Pushes it to around 55°C and climbing. On reboot the utilities seem to pop up ( a small gray box in the top right corner) and then vanish. I am just worried to fry my card if I'll put it under heavy load or ruin it in the long run. My set up is: CPU: Intel Xeon E31231v3 4x 3.40 GHz GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming 8G PS: bequite! 600W Ram: 1150 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX motherboard: MSI H97 PC Mate Intel H97 So. OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit And it once gave me this Problem signature: I really don't know what is going on
