  1. Exactly. The monitor is under warranty and I have a digital receipt tied to the Dell account account I ordered it with. That is all they need to know.
  2. How about respond to the email with the information in type since ALL of that info is available under 'owned products' on my Dell account, rather than having to rip my setup apart to get to the back of the monitor to take a photo. And having to dig out an ancient physical receipt to take a photo of. And seriously, writing down my details on a piece of paper with today's date? That is just archaic.
  3. How insane is this? The monitor I purchased is in my account's order history with all its details available. Yet I have to go through this interrogation for even the most basic warranty support. "Good Day, Kindly reply to the email with these documents below : i)Picture at the back of the monitor with the serial number ii)on a white paper please write in your name, today's date and the case number that I have emailed you. iii)Picture of the invoice that you have purchased the monitor from Dell. iv)Together with your address details. v)Full view picture of the monitor. Thank you for choosing Dell."
  4. Video about using digital signage as a TV - e.g. the Samsung QB65R. You can get really nice looking displays for the same price or cheaper than the TV equivalent. Even better, they may not be 'smart,' so there's no janky software overhead and you can rely on an nvidia shield, an Apple TV box, Google TV, Roku - anything is better than built-in smart OS's as they're so slow.
  5. "I will preface this post by saying that I have just lost my whole dogechain.info wallet balance, so naturally I have scoured the web and Reddit for answers. Searching for 'hacked,' 'stolen,' or the like will bring up posts with the exact same thing happening. Random unauthorised transactions with no notification that they had occurred. Some of these transactions have actually been made to the same wallet. This is a serious issue which everyone needs to be made more aware of. Everyone has different preferences on who to buy from/which wallet to use etc, and some people call each other stupid for using dogechain.info, for example. If we could have some proper talks about this topic it would be brilliant. It's been a horrible experience for those affected." - above is a Reddit post which was just deleted by r/dogecoin mods. FYI: it's Rap Escape. I know.
  6. Hey everyone, so I was just upgraded to a 2080 from a 1080 Ti for free as the old one crapped out and they didn't have a replacement model in stock. Awesome. However, after downloading the Aorus tuning app off of Gigabyte's website and running the scan function, then manually setting the fan speed to 100% (for example) there is no change... The fans just stay at 0rpm. The temps slowly climb until the System displays whatever I'm doing at about 1/4fps then shuts the display off. Needless to say I've hardly turned it on since as I don't want to do any damage. I'm honestly so confused and don't know where to start but I'll be talking to Gigabyte when they're available. Any ideas in the meantime?
  7. Hey everyone, I've just installed Steam on my XPS 15 9560 and am attempting to download some games. Every game results in this problem - stuck on 'creating local game files.' I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application, clearing the download cache, installing on a separate partition (both the steam application and the library), scanning the disk for issues and running as admin, including the Steam install. Upon trying to cancel the installation, Steam completely stops responding and crashes. Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Awesome - throttlestop has helped a lot. Still not perfect but as close as it gets. DWM is greyed out in the NVidia control panel - it's locked to integrated. However I was referring to the new Windows 10 update coming soon, which has a similar option.
  9. Thank you for your input! How did you go about tuning the system? And also, I found this video: And I'm wondering whether you'll be able to set the dwm.exe (Desktop window manager) to use discrete graphics. One other thing about this laptop - terribly slow to boot-up.
  10. A lot of you have undoubtedly heard of the famed XPS line up. Ever since the introduction of the 9550, it's been regarded as the closest to perfection a Windows PC has achieved. However, much to my dismay, this is only the case on paper. I've owned two XPS laptops - a 9550 and a 9560, both with the 4K display option. Spec-wise these are the best laptop-displays on the market when combining the resolution and colour accuracy - only recently met by the new Aero 15 which offers the same 100% Adobe RGB and 4K resolution, however I haven't had any experience with the latter product. I'm mentioning the panel as a focal point now because it's such a trump-card when discusing the laptop and I'll return to it further on. Seeing one of these laptops in a retail environment may be love at first site for a lot of consumers, including myself. After deciding to pick one up, I brought it home only to have the unit not power on whatsoever. I had to return the laptop the next day and replace it - however the replacement unit only had half of the front charging LED light up. I have however kept the unit as I seriously cannot be bothered at this point. Returning to the display, it looks great when you're looking at static content - save from the darker splotches which show up on the sides of the display (it's almost like the opposite of light-bleed, if I could describe it). Moving images are another story - the ghosting is so bad that it strains my eyes simply from dragging around a file explorer window and flipping through animations in the Windows UI... which is a whole other issue I will talk about next. The overall performance is mediocre - navigating Windows feels sluggish and is prone to low-framerates and stutters throughout the OS. Simply alt+windows key-ing into taskview the animation plays at what I'd say it about 12fps and combined with the ghosting, is just horrible. I know I may sound ridiculous for even discusing this, but considering the price point of the device, I think issues like this should be ironed out. I've tested other resolutons - namely 1080p for the exact 4:1 pixel ratio and the navigation is drastically smoother. So essentially, the HD 630 onboard graphics cannot handle 4K properly. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on all of this! Cheers!
  11. Yeah will do, I’ve only owned the whole computer for two weeks! Just my luck haha.
  12. I’ve actually tried using the DVI port on the 1080 Ti with a DVI - HDMI cable, with the same result. However, I will try it again. After leaving it unplugged for an hour or so, I somehow managed to reach the BIOS... However it was shortlived. I also noticed that the LED labled “VGA” on the bottom right of the motherboard is often lit up yellow when a power-on is attempted.
  13. Yeah, the reason I reset the CMOS in the first place is because I noticed the onboard graphics had been completely disabled by the builders the first time I went into the BIOS - which I fully understand, it just simplifies things. In previous builds, I needed just to remove the cable from the video card for it to 'not detect' and instead display through the onboard graphics. Nope, my PC doesn't have a speaker so, I at this point, am assuming it's the GPU - I guess time will tell. I sure hope I'm not asked to pay for anything
  14. I'm not comfortable with removing the GPU as the case is, admittedly, a b*tch to build in - which is why I didn't build it myself like I normally do. I also don't want to void the building company's warranty.
