  1. Ohh. I get what you mean now. Hmm I don't think a router would be able to get information from the PC via ethernet about which application to use for what connection, would it? Like it'd need to also be connected to said PC via USB for something like this, I'd presume. And definitely not for £79.
  2. Oof. I guess that's the "no" then. Good to know! So if I wanted to actually do this, I'd need a load-balancing router, right. Just for science. I saw Ubiquiti has a £79 one that does it. It's cheap cuz no WiFi (which makes sense).
  3. So. I only have two connections right now, because I'm transitioning between providers and I haven't canceled the "old" one yet. So in the meantime, I thought I'd try and see how to make this work just to see if it's effective or not. The goal would be to have ONE connection that's faster, yes. But, I'd settle for something like: One connection could be dedicated to say, a stream. So it'd handle the stream itself, music I'd be playing, any browser sources etc. The other one would be exclusively used by whatever game I'm playing, for example. Just an opportunity to see if this can be done on just one PC that happens to have a dual-NIC motherboard.
  4. Hey guys! I have two connections here from separate providers, and my motherboard has two ethernet ports. Each one is connected to a different service (TalkTalk and Virgin). There's a way to combine these connections, right? Load balancing in-PC? I found this app called Speedify but it's not free. There has to be a way to do this for free, right?
  5. Just to update you guys! I got the PS5. Thanks for all the input.
  6. I also just noticed the case and the cooler don't have a price in that list... With those in there it'll probably be about £1000, not 732, right.
  7. Yeah I'd be happy with 4K60. I play at 1440p on the main gaming PC (but it's ultrawide 3440x1440). But at 100FPS cuz that's the highest the monitor can do, it's slightly older so it's 100Hz.
  8. I definitely do NOT wanna move anything around.
  9. NICE. £732 is not bad at all! But RX 6700 is not enough to do 4K on like, Cyberpunk or even Diablo IV, is it. The TV is 4K and can do 120Hz. If I do this, I'm not gonna 1440p on it.
  10. Laptop is a good suggestion actually! It'd allow me to keep my PC games I already have AND would make it a no-brainer playing on the TV, connecting it as if it was a monitor. Still at least twice as expensive as the PS5, though, right. Especially a laptop with a decent GPU in it. Hmmm.
  11. This one does not need an upgrade. 3950X, 3090, 128gb of RAM, it's a bonkers PC. But maybe you didn't quite get the issue. This PC, and the streaming one, are in their own room. What I'm trying to do is game on my TV that's down in the living room. Different room, different floor. And I was trying to avoid having to re-buy games I already own, so I was thinking of streaming the games to the TV. But there's no ideal solution. Steam link only works with steam so Blizzard games (or other non-steam games) don't work. Nvidia SHIELD would be a possibility but from what I'm reading, not ideal either. So I'm between building a mini PC to place next to the TV, or getting a PS5. The PS5 costs a THIRD of what the PC would cost, so even if I re-buy like 10 games, I'm still spending less money than I would if I were to build a third PC...
  12. Because, these two PCs are in a different room on a different floor, and they're fit for purpose. Main workstation/gaming system + dedicated streaming machine. If I upgrade the streaming one for example, to use as the TV gaming PC, it'd need a new GPU cuz it only has a 1080Ti in it. The GPU alone is more expensive than the PS5, and I'd lose my dedicated streaming machine...
  13. Budget (including currency): Being considered Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So here's a question. First, to establish something: I already have two PCs. Different room, different floor. The intended use is in the living room, hooked up to a TV, to play games. BUT For this money, I could get a PS5, which by itself costs a third of the price and even if I re-buy the games I wanna play for PS5, I'd still be spending less than half the money compared to the PC, and I don't have to BUILD it either. So, why get the PC? Here's the build btw: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cYq8hk Makes sense to get the PS5 in this instance, right?
  14. Alright. So I bought a Kraken Z73. Installed it today, and it improved significantly. Instead of 77 C, it's now idling at 60. And it only jumps up to about 80 when cinebench is running. Instead of 92. Even got a higher score now. 8727. Still too high, though, right? So what do I do here? Is it my case? Should I mount the rad on the front instead of the top? Dark Base 900 is quite modular so I can literally move anything anywhere... help! Here's how it looks right now, with the side door removed:
  15. It's a 3950X. I think it deserves an AIO. I'm gonna try to OC it too... So maybe a 360 one?
  16. Right, that was my suspicion. Ok then. Any suggestions on what to get to replace it?
  17. Alright guys! Just got a 3950X. I tried to follow this guide to setting it up: >LINK< Everything goes well, until I try the 4250 speed on Ryzen Master. It does the stress test and powers off. I know why it is, it's the cooling. As soon as it starts the test I can see the temp go past 100. So then I need advice on how to improve my cooling, I guess! This is what's in the PC right now: >LINK< It's idling at 77 C right now, and one Cinebench test pushes it to 92 C... So my suspicion is that this cooler is underperforming since it's old (like 5+ years old. I bought it back when I built this PC back in the 5820K days). Now I've heard other people are having issues trying to use the h115i with this CPU. What should I get to replace it then? NZXT? Thanks in advance!
  18. I really don’t wanna do this because the system will be moved a lot...
  19. Because I already have a touchscreen in the rack, I don’t need keyboard or mouse or trackpad, and a laptop is not upgradeable, and it’s inconvenient because it’s separate from the rack, and it’s a lot less bang for buck. I also already have an iPad Pro 12.9” so that’s pretty much a laptop already. Just no. There has to be a way to make the 1U idea work.
  20. Budget (including currency): £1200 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multi-Cam streaming, audio recording via DAW. Other details: Hello! I have an ongoing project for which I'll be needing a 1U PC built. It will go inside this case: https://www.thomann.de/gb/skb_r106w_rolling_compact_rig.htm The rack already includes an UPS and a Soundcraft Ui24R mixer. The UPS takes up 1U. The mixer takes up 4U. There's also a power supply bar in there, 1U. Now the case has 6U front and back, but depending on the depth of what's in each space, I can't really have 12 things in there. The mixer is shallow enough, and so is the power supply bar. The UPS is the only one that's deep enough that it'd prevent something being used on the other side. The slanted top has a touchscreen taking up all the space there. So what I'm thinking is, the PC would go right above the UPS (unless you advise me otherwise, maybe for heat dissipation purposes?), the UPS being the heaviest piece of gear in there, it's in the bottom slot. The mixer works both as a standalone recorder and as an interface for PC or Mac. I need to add a PC to the rack for a couple reasons. First, because I'm going to be using the rack as a mobile streaming unit, and second, because I need to use a DAW to record. This should give you an idea of the kind of hardware it needs to have, but, being experienced at building PCs myself, I have a part list already. Now I've never built inside a 1U case, which is part of the reason I'm reaching out to you guys. Here’s my parts list so far: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor £253.16 @ Amazon UK Motherboard MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION EATX AM4 Motherboard £440.00 @ Amazon UK Memory G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory £203.34 @ Newegg UK Storage Sabrent Rocket 4.0 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive £99.99 @ Amazon UK Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB MINI ITX OC Video Card £219.99 @ AWD-IT Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £1216.48 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-06-24 12:21 BST+0100 It’s missing a power supply and a cooler because I don’t know what to pick for a 1U case situation. Also Ryzen runs pretty toasty right, so I’m gonna need an AIO probably? But which one... I have a h115i on my rig and I know that wouldn’t work because the tubes don’t turn, they’re too tall off the CPU socket to fit inside a 1U case. And I’m gonna need to install the GPU with a PCIe extension cable so it sits horizontally yeah? Help!
  21. Definitely, yes. Anything else I should try?
  22. Then I'll tackle the score after... getting the memory to work is priority. The post was basically to confirm I actually have to replace the CPU. Because that means I'll be sending this one back and until I get the new one, I'll have no PC. I was trying to make sure I have to go through that. I guess that's a yes.
  23. Also, I'm aware more RAM won't make a difference in tests. That is not why I need the RAM to work. I mean first of all i bought 64 so I want them to WORK. They were working before the cooler accident. But, it's also VERY relevant to my After Effects workflow. Previews man...
  24. Yes I have. I said so in a previous comment and even posted the new test results, it went up by about 1000. Still doesn't fix the two memory channels problem...
