I currently have a i5 7600k and I am looking to upgrade to a cpu with more cores/threads but I'm torn on weather or not to buy a kabylake i7 or invest into the coffeelake platform

you dont need an sli connection to run 2 gpus in a system, sli or crossfire is only if you want to run them together

As generic as it sounds have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling bf1 it has worked for fixing minor bugs for me
