I want to upgrade my APU from A6-6400K to A10-7860K
Although the A10 is a FM2+ Socket APU, it does not appear on GIGABYTE's "CPU Supported List" :http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?v=AE72F6F9D4ADD0D792E0D7E5598B25FDAE03783FACAD607F24E2247B82F7946B&s=AMD Socket FM2%2B&cs=AMD A55
I tried picking the A10 on PCPartPicker.com and my motherboard didn't show up!
My motherboard is GA-F2A55M-HD2 (rev. 3.0): http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4807#sp
So, is this some kind of a typo or somebody forgot to write this APU in the list, or this isn't the right one to upgrade to?
Aside from the above ...
The APU is part of an upgrade I'm making to my PC and I'd really appreciate if you take a look and tell me if it's good or can I get better.
APU - AMD A10-7860K Black Edition ~ 110$
Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ~ 30$
Memory - Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 1866MHz ~ 76$
Storage (SSD) - ADATA Premier SP550 240GB ~ 64$
Storage (HDD) - WD Blue 2TB ~ 70$
Graphics Card - Sapphire Radeon NITRO RX 460 4GB ~ 140$
To put it straight, I don't game on regular bases. My main use for my PC is Photoshop and quite a lot of background multitasking while working, although every while a game could get my attention and I play it, and the game that happens to get mine at the moment it The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I played the first two games and I liked them so much, and the fact it's getting a GOTY edition gives me another reason not to hold it any longer. I've seen the RX 460 benchmarks for The Witcher 3 and it's good enough for me.
I know I won't be using the IGPU of the APU when I get the RX 460, but Amazon doesn't ship Athlon processors to Egypt, where I live, and the only Athlon I found here is 80% overpriced! Just to let you know why I'm getting an APU and a standalone GPU.
Thanks in advance to all of your replies.
