If I use less drives, don't I lose a lot of capacity? RAID 1 with 2 x 8TB is 8TBs of capacity vs RAID 5 with 4 x 4TB and 12TBs of storage
-
That's what I was thinking, but don't know if I should do a larger parity drive to make expansion easier.
-
I want to convert an old PC to a storage server for a group I volunteer with. We can only afford 4 4TB drives at the time, but we need the ability to expand with more storage in the future. I would like the OS to be easy to use since the group will still need to use it after I leave with easy expansion in the future. They don't know RAID or anything really IT related, so easier for them the better.

I think I'm going to go with the 5800X and the NH-D12L, it's under my budget and it SHOULD™ fit in my case.

What cooler do you think would be best for the 5700X that fits my case?

Budget (including currency): $300-$350 (for CPU and Cooler) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Nothing specific, trying to remove my CPU bottleneck Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already have a completed build, and want to upgrade my CPU to get rid of the bottleneck. My budget is $300 to $350 for CPU and Cooler (replacing my existing Wraith STEALTH) and I would prefer to keep all my other current parts. I want to buy exclusively used and don’t want to include selling my existing CPU in my budget calculations. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/aidancomi/saved/P2wMVn I was looking at the 5800X or 5600X, but don’t know what cooler would be best with my case. Thanks in Advanced!

Just my luck, looks like Amazon doesn't have the RX 6650XT anymore, so what's a comparable GPU for $250-$300 new.?
-
I recently place an order for a MSI RX 6650 XT, but ended up receiving the RTX 3050 Aero ITX (pictured below). Which is better?

I am currently using the Ryzen 3400G's integrate graphics and have been looking for a GPU upgrade for some time. I've been considering the RX 6600 lately, but the release of the A750 has made me reconsider. It's a first gen product and it geels a bit odd using a Intel GPU on an AMD system, but I don't know. What is the best option? Full PC Specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/aidancomi/saved/P2wMVn RX 6600: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09J8879JC Looking for exclusively 1080p gaming with room for a potential monitor upgrade to 1440p or higher refresh rate. I'm mostly playing e-sports title (Valorant, etc), but would like the flexibility to play some AAA games.

Power cycling Netgear Router Nighthawk R7800 with WiFi Smart Plug
aidancomi replied to Joe Bauers's topic in Networking
Idea seems solid, I would consider using a much cheaper basic outlet timer since the smart outlet losing wifi when the router goes off could create some problems. It will be much more of a pain to setup, but will probably be more reliable in the long run. -

Samsung released DeX apps for Windows 10 and MacOS in 2019. https://www.samsung.com/us/apps/dex/ I don't have any experience with it, so I would do some research before making any purchases.

A Gigabyte RX 6600 is on sale at Best Buy, so looks like that's going to be my pick! Thanks for the help!
-
I currently have a 3400G and 16GB of RAM (Full PCParkPicker here) and wanted to upgrade to a dedicated GPU. I looked at some and found a 3050 at Best Buy for $380. I definitely want to buy new, not used. Is this a good pick? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-3050-gaming-oc-8gb-128-bit-gddr6-graphics-card-with-3x-windforce-fans/6496088.p?skuId=6496088
