I just recently bought GL502vt-ds71 from Amazon for $999, for the first run it was relatively slow process ... i had the laptop charging while turning on for the first time , it went to the screen saying "Hi There" and some text and a Button saying "Next" but the problem was that there was no cursor or pointer on the screen and moving on touchpad also didn't show any sign of pointer (stood there for like a minute or so)so i force shutdown and restart but then whenever it completes the asus rog logo it displays a screen saying "Your Pc ran into a problem , restarting ...." and after that a line showing "Driver_Power_State_Failure" . Pc restarted , then again same screen, then i force shutdown , took the charger pin out wait for a minute then insert the pin back then again after Asus logo same Your Pc ran into failure but after that line showing "DPC Watchdog Voilation" Please tell me any solution to make this laptop work or setup. Is it the failure of hardware or software ? Any solutions ? Any suggestions? @Dackzy @Pendragon

Currently it is on sale @Amazon , for a price of $1108. Specs looks promising for average gaming (but with 970m , i can play my favorite games like Hitman 2016) and other productive tasks (Android development and C++/Java Programming , and maybe some Graphics Illustrator and Photoshop). I need expert opinion on this , is it the best price/performance ratio ? or should i look for another options. I am going to buy a laptop in this month , and i have been searching for a laptop since 4 months now ... Other options include :- 1. Dell Inspiron 7559 , $760 but was $735 at once point last month i think. 2. Ideapad 510s , ~$550 and then like after 2 or 3 years go for 1060 clevo laptop maybe. My current laptop is 6 years old (Fujitsu Ah-531), core i3 3rd gen .. so i am not an expert and even Ideapad 510s is way better than my current laptop. I am a CS major currently in my last year. P.S Budget is under $1000 , but if the Asus deal is worth it i can increase the budget for that. and i will only game while plugged in and at home but most of the time i will be doing my assingments and projects , so productivity > Gaming for me now. If you guys have other options under this budget then please advice. I could however go for Razer Stealth , but i have seen some experts saying that Razer has poor thermals. But it's durable and so many upgradeable options. Currently i am waiting till december to make my final decision , i was looking at Dell Inspiron 7559 and also the release of gtx 1050 laptops. But then i see this laptop with such a great deal , but being a noob i don't know whether it's worth the shot or not ? because i don't know when will this sale end. If there are other great business laptops that might be durable (at least 4 to 5 years) , have good build quality and can be upgraded easily then please list out there names too. Currently i see lenovo laptops on sale, and i haven't tried any lenovo products yet but there business laptops looks promising @Dackzy @Pendragon can you guys comment on this?

At first i was looking for this laptop but many "experts" told me to stay away from acer because the quality is crap. Dell Inspiron 7559 , I am also looking forward to buying from that same link ! Hope the price would go down a bit next month. i5 +ssd option looks like a great deal and on top of that 960m can at least run modern games on low or medium settings. Also someone on netbook forum adviced me to wait a little and look for the release of gtx 1050 laptops, so I will be making my last decision in december 2016.

I am sorry , i forgot to update this post. I posted the same question on StackOverFlow and got my answer over there. There is a logical error in my code if you look closely , In this part :- for (int x = 0,i=0; x < Images_list.size(); x++) { if (Images_list.get(x).IsSelected()) { Images_list.remove(x); } } I am Iterating the list as well as well as removing from it , solution to this problem is that either i use an Iterator or store the Indexes of Selected Images and later on remove those Indexes from Array.

And I don't want to implement Contexual Menu, If it can detect Multiple Selection Successfully then it should also be able to delete Multiple Images Successfully.

I am building an app for practice purpose , so it goes like this that Images will be shown on screen in a gridView and :- Below is the Screenshot of the app (done till now):- -if user clicks on an image another activity opens which shows the image that was clicked in fullscreen. (done this part) -if user long presses an image , the Image is selected and user can select multiple Images. (done this part) -There is a menu on the Screen containing Delete icon/item and Set as Wallpaper icon/item. (done this part) If User clicks on the delete icon of menu ,all the selected images should be deleted (NOT DONE , I am stuck in this part ). ^ As you can see in this Image , i have selected two Images now if i click on the RecycleBin icon on menu , it only deletes ONE Image the starting one (pink color) i.e I am trying to delete the Images in Main Activity (In this case it's name is ImagesShow) and then calling notifyDataSetChanged within the loop or outside the loop but it only runs one time and deletes one image altough in for loop it detects that at the moment Number of Images Selected = 2. Other Method i tried was to make a function of Remove(Image) in CustomImageAdapter, and in the above for loop just call , Remove (Images_List.get(x)). and in Remove(Image) i try to remove the Image in CustomImageAdapter List (same as Images_List) and then call NotifyDataSetChanged from the CustomImageAdapter. Annnnnnd it also didn't worked. If someone can solve this problem or explain the working of NotifyDataSetChanged in baseAdapter then please write your answer , need to clear my concept. And there is also one interesting thing , i read in stackoverflow that getview() is called in a loop depending upon the getCount () function that you override , But then it totally blows my mind when i write in my Main Activity Images_List.get(x).ToggleSelection(); ((BaseAdapter)gridView.getAdapter()).notifyDataSetChanged(); Annd it somehow runs the getView successfully and shows the "Selected" text on an image as you can see in the Screenshot Above , but the thing is that the count i.e Images_list.size() remains the same so why did the notifyDataSetChanged runs Successfully here?? I am also going to buy a laptop soon , either XPS 15 ($1399 model) or this $1311 ASUS model , but i am more inclined towards ASUS model because of it's Price-Performance Ratio as well as 96 Whr Battery which i think is great !!

True that , but what about that 4k problem ? I think it's called scaling ( i don't have much knowledge). I think it goes like this , that menu bar and text becomes so little to see. 4k is the only problem which i am seeing in ASUS as i will be using a lot of softwares from Programming/development to graphics and i don't want to end up in a situation where i am unable to use those softwares just because the product(software) is not compatible with 4k resolution and i don't think i can switch between 4k or 1080p in ASUS , just as we can switch between Integrated and Dedicated Graphics. Asus is looking so promising to me , but the only thing that is holding me back is compatibility of software's that i would be running (e.g Visual Studio/Android Studio, Adobe Suite , MS Office etc).
