Internet over coax powerline or multimedia over coax
SpittingLlama replied to SpittingLlama's topic in Networking
Not sure what you mean with heating duct. If you mean like a ventilation system. I'm afraid we don't have that here. Well not in normal homes I have looked into this and after some searching (a lot of searching) I found the Hirschmann MOKA32. Mainly didn't find it at first because in Germany MoCa is called MoKa. It's a MoCA 2.0 400Mbps and costs 65euro for 1 device. So I guess my search is over -
Hi, So in my newly rented house my game room is on the stop floor. The coax cable comes in the cellar. Since it isn't a new house is doesn't have have an UTP cable running to the top floor. But is does hase a coax cable. Replacing the coax cable with a cat5e is impossible since it's a rented house. Internetspeed : 200mbits/s I also want to stream to the tv on the lower floor that is hooked up to the router. 2 options: internet over power -> depends on the quality of the power line + needs to be connected in on the same power grid. -> have heard it can be slow and unstable internet over coax -> Stable, but the fastest I have seen is 175mbits/s http://www.actiontec.com/251.html Does anyone have suggestions on what route to take? Thanks!

Just singed up. For 30$ a month it is worth trying it out. If it sucks I just stop the subscription. Very interesting.- 44 replies

So I looked at it. I don't lik it but I can see why some people would. It's also so expensive. But if you think about it it's quite a normal price. The problem with us is that we are all Ikea people. Don't get me wrong Ikea is great! especially for younger people. Anyway if you look at this vid, in the end the guy tells you how much money she spend and it's also a lot. Soooo these desks aren't as expensive as you might think. Still nothing beats Ikea hacker stuff

It would be stupid not to patent it since someone else will. The only way to make something available to everyone is to get a patent and say: "Do with it what you like." The same way Tesla does. Also, cyclist have some kind of idea that they are the weak one and car drivers should just be more careful. But do bear in mind that car drivers sit in a metal box with small windows and small mirrors designed to spot other cars that are a fuckton bigger than someone on a bike. Best solution is to make dedicated cycling lanes. That way we have less accidents and car traffic should be faster since you don't have to drive behind someone on a bike. In the end we are all stupid fucks because we never plan ahead. Just like how airplane company's are now saying that from now on there will always be 2 persons in the cockpit.

Finger mounted that camera helps the blind to read

As a creator of an App that lets visual impaired people read printed text I was amazed when I read the title but after seeing the video I don't see much use for it. It's already quite hard for a visual impaired person to take a decent photograph of a single page of text let alone let them have their finger move on the line of a sentence. Not to mention that these people are used to listen to spoken text at 140 words per minute. Anyway cool tech but still a long way to go.- 4 replies

I was like "Oh damn another failed release" and then I saw it's in EARLY ACCESS... Then I tough "Another fucking idiot buying into really access and complaining the game sucks." Sjeez dude, you don't buy a car without tires expecting it will drive fast. Or do you? Early access sucks and will always suck. And certainly servers will fail when 170.000 morons buy an completely unfinished game and bombard the server / login server. Get your head out of your ass and see that buying into EARLY ACCESS is stupid UNLESS you know that the EARLY ACCESS is more like a beta and not an alpha. Also don't expect that alpha or beta is any good unless it's a game from a company that has years and years of experience. Like Blizzard and the Evolve makers, (and some more).

So it has hit the shops in the Netherlands for 783euro. https://maxict.nl/product/4285741/aoc-u3477pqu?btwview=in&rs=tweakers&utm_source=tweakers&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricewatch But since CES 2015 is running atm screens are popping up that have free sync. I think I saw a 21:9 with g-sync? Or was it freesync? Anyway they have let me wait for 3 months so I said: "fuck it I'll wait a bit longer to see how freesync performs". At the worst prices will drop.
