My friend has been experiencing problems with his prebuilt Ibuypowerpc. He has a I7-8700 not K, and a RTX 2070 from MSI. He's had the PC for a year and just started playing games with it, like 2 weeks ago. Then his monitor would display "no input" when he was playing games yet his keyboard, mouse, audio, and computer was still running. Whenever he got this black screen and the message of "no input" his computer fans would ramp up. He would have to restart the PC and whenever he tried to get into the BIOS it would either crash or nothing happened when he pressed f2 or DEL. Eventually the PC would display no input even under no load. So I told him to run a multiplayer Garry's mod game, and his monitor displayed no input, but the server was still running and I got to work helping him. So I asked him to swap cables, and even try the motherboard's display input with 2 different HDMI cables. Nothing worked, even with a different display. Eventually I told him just to reset and unplug his PC. And go back to the original config of his monitor and the original cable. But after the restart we got no signal. I even told him to go through the monitor's input signals but nothing happened. While he will consult IBUYPOWER, it would be nice to get everyone's input. In the image it shows the cable in the motherboard, but that was just a test to see what would happen. He is running a 1920 x 1080 60 Hz HP monitor, not sure of the model.

My budget would range from about 300-400 USD.

The Witcher 3, Garry's Mod, Jedi Academy, and Fallout 4.

So we're gonna move and I'm looking to buy a brand new monitor, however, I do need some help on how to pick one out. So I typically do productivity because of school, gaming like playing either on my Xbox one or my PC, and I watch youtube and anime very frequently. The games I would play on my PC would be games like The Witcher 3, Garry's Mod, and Jedi Academy. On my Xbox, I would probably be playing Skyrim: Remastered, or Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. I'm also looking for 1440p only because anything higher would stress my GPU too much. Specs: I5-6600 MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X 6GB 8GB DDR4 2733Mhz

The monitor I'm planning to buy has a DisplayPort cable input and so does my GPU.

Do I need to have a DisplayPort cable for 1440p 100-144hz? Specs I5-6600 MSI GAMING X GTX 1060 6GB 8GB DDR4 2733Mhz

So I'm thinking of switching from this crappy monitor onto an LG Ultrawide however, I'm not too sure about which one I should get for my purposes. I typically play games like the Witcher 3, Garry's Mod, Jedi Academy, and sometimes I play on my Xbox One probably playing Skyrim. I also am an avid watcher of anime so that's why I wanted a nice monitor for the viewing experience. The Monitors are linked on the Bottom Also, I would like to know about any Compatability issues I could face. Made it worse

Go for the Gtx770 then.
-
Will that be the same case with Glass???
-
The Gtx 770 is the better card but depending how long it has been used it could affect its lifespan for you. But if you want the POWER go for Gtx 770.
