  1. I get around 80c under load with all cores @ 4.8ghz on air (no delid). While delidding might help, I believe case airflow is the biggest factor here, would recommend you switch to a more airflow optimized case
  2. One solution is to use RGB fusion to set whatever color / mode you intend to, then uninstall it, it should remain that way. RGB software between manufacturers is usually tied to their own unless specifically mentioned, such as corsair link working with MSI mystic light.
  3. It'll be the performance you would be looking for, but yes its older than your target range.
  4. At that price range you'll have to scour around ebay or the like for a good trustable deal. For AMD you could try searching for the 6950 / 7850, as for nvidia maybe the gtx 670
  5. From personal experience, the P400S' airflow is pretty terrible, worse if you intend to stick a rad for the front intake
  6. SHP9500 / ATH-AD500X for open back goodness

    Need a new headset

For black / white color scheme I'd suggest the Asus Cerberus, there's a black / white version and you can find them for less than $50. They sound pretty good for the price
  8. Alright, will do just that. Cheers guys
  9. Would routing an extension have any EMI? Does cable length have any effect? Also, would love suggestions on what headphones to go for, I had only auditioned the M40x, M50x and the HD330, I do like how the M40x and HD330 sounds although the M40x is abit uncomfortable for me.
  10. Hi there, Would like some advice on if a budget DAC like the Fiio E10K would make any difference compared to my onboard audio solution (Asus Maximus IX Formula) Thinking of getting a Superlux HD330 as I quite like how it sounds, although I'm open to suggestions on alternatives too. My question stems from the fact that my rig is to my right and on the table, which I would then have to plug the headphones to the front panel, which in turn isn't that feasible due to the cable stretching across my neck from that position. Is there any ideal solution to route the jack someplace else for example under the table? Which in turn comes back to if getting a DAC would be beneficial, as I could velcro it under my table and route a micro usb through it. But if there's a cheaper solution I'm definitely taking that I'm considering on the headphones being the HD330 and the DAC the Fiio E10K, but I'm open to suggestions on if there are better choices without being too much over budget. As for speakers I'm running the Acoustic Energy Aego M, if there's a benefit to routing it through a DAC do enlighten me too, as I'm not too familiar with audio solutions, only through self research.
  11. Same dilemma here, would like some recommendations on what case to get for good airflow without it being loud. Currently on a P400S and its kinda bad even with all the 140mm slots filled in, GPU climbs up to over 78c unless I max out the fans which made it unbearably loud, even then it'll only lower to 73c at best. My other issue would be I can't go over 590mm in height as I have a shelf just above where I place my tower, would definitely appreciate any suggestions P.S Would want tempered glass, budget I could stretch to $200 if its really worth every penny
  12. Hi guys, having an issue where I found out this monitor of mine would not power up if i pressed the monitor power switch manually. Unless, I plug out the displayport connection to my pc, then I could power it on just fine, then plug it back into my rig It basically does not want to turn on (no light indicator or anything) if the pc is powered on. Tried using HDMI and it's the same story. It would work totally fine no hiccups or anything, until I power it off manually. And if it does go into power save mode, it'll wake up no problems. But it works totally fine when plugged in to my laptop via HDMI, tried on a friend's gaming laptop via mini DP and it works too. Any suggestions? The monitor's a Dell U2913WM, using a 980ti.
  13. On a totally non-performance matter, for some reason Asus removed the rgb backplate on the 1060, they kept it for the rx480 though.
  14. RX480 4GB if you're looking to buy new, but depending on the titles you play the 1060 is also a great choice, try to lookup on comparisons on the titles you currently play on between the two cards.
  15. Depends I guess, I had a MSI R9 290 that sagged, but the 980ti I'm currently using does not. That said, one (potentially costly) solution is to get a case that allows vertical GPU mounting
