  1. I'm speechless. Then again, it's been years... In fact after researching about current CPUs, I just wanted make sure if upgrading only the GPU would be enough. The Ryzen 7 3700X looks tempting, but I don't need it badly. Well I would love to sculpt in VR, although that can wait. It would be complementary to my main workflow on Blender (3D modeling, rigging and texturing). So it would be for games that don't require a large space irl. I have 16GB of ram btw... I can't check the speed now, if that's relevant.
  2. I want to use VR. I won't be able to buy the card soon, but it's the budget I'm willing to spend on.
  3. Omg, can't believe I had my cheap laptop's specs instead of the PC I built on late September...

An I had to update the PSU... For some reason I had it as Corsair after all these years.

  4. It just stays blank after showing my motherboard's brand. Not just that, but when I used to have dual boot, when I restart my PC after the blank screen, it took me to the BIOS menu, with Lubuntu missing. I tried recovering by different methods, but after the 4th try, I gave up and just kept Windows 10 alone. I assume it could be my SSD, but even if that was the case, what am I supossed to do? It occurs ocassionally since a few days after I built my PC, but this week alone happened 3 or 4 times.
  5. Depending on which I choose, I'll buy a GPU in one hour or tomorrow. I can pic an MSI, an EVGA, or possibly a Gigabyte. Normally I'd research by my own, but this suddenly became a last minute situation. I'm going to build a PC for gaming and 3D rendering. Please, I can choose only the ones listed, as another card would exceed my budget.
  6. Motorstorm Apocalypse Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus
  7. The case looks really neat... Could consider it if I hadn't bought the one I have now. And I bought it because it was in my city (the only small case). Saved money on shipment, heh. As for the PSU... I think it's less probable I'll find it here. But if I could, do you think I will save more money, long-term-wise? Because I won't change of PSU once I buy it, since all I could add in this case is more storage.
  8. I barely can do things with a Celeron and 2GB of RAM... I think I waited for too long already. Has Zen an official release date?
  9. I'll use my PC for digital drawing, 3D (rendering, modeling and animation) and gaming (I want to play most of games available, but don't care of playing with max graphics). Right away I'll use free programs such as Blender and Krita, but I want to vary in the future. My budget is CLP $600k (I live in Chile). That's USD $887 as for today. After researching for one week on different sites and groups, this is what I'll buy in two weeks: CPU: i5-6500 GPU: MSI GTX 950 Gaming 2G MOBO: ASUS H110I-PLUS RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2 x 4GB 2400 SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB PSU: Corsair RM550 CASE: Cooler Master Elite 130 I already own a 1680x1050 monitor, a USB mouse, the case and the motherboard. I have in mind buying an HDD, upgrade the RAM and maaaaybe the GPU later (something like a GTX 1070, if I do it soon enough), once I feel I need to upgrade at least two of the three parts, since the only local store here overprices almost everything. Now my goal is replace my current laptop asap. I used SoloTodo, which seems to be like a Southamerican version of PCPartPicker. A guy in that site can buy all the parts and send them to my house, so shipment won't be much of an issue. I want a small PC. My room is small, so I won't be uncomfortable with one.
  10. It's been years since I played new PC games (okay, just the ones that require just a bit), and early next month I'll finally own a good PC! Wooo! So what do you recommend me? I enjoy most of genres, but I think I'd prefer racing (any) or multiplayer (I'd prefer local).
  11. On ver. 16.04, occasionally this happens when I continue using my PC from suspension. After a few seconds, or even minutes, it comes back. My laptop is an HP x360 something. Umm the specs are on my profile. I don't have my laptop where I am now, sorry!
  12. Yeah, I will. Upgrading my monitor isn't in my plans. Still happy with it (LG Flatron M228WA-BM).
  13. Probably the best I could afford without selling any of my organs. And I think I will in one year, if I'm REALLY optimal saving money. What I'm gonna buy for my build is a GTX 950. Well, sounds great! I know Skylake is still new, but since there's the i7... I just wanted be sure.
  14. Probably an overwhelming request. I'm going to build a PC with an i5-6500, which I have no intentions on remplacing anytime soon. Can I use the most powerful GPU that's available now? (Though that sounds utopic for me right now - I just want to remplace my current laptop asap) I just want to know what I can choose once I decide an upgrade.
