iPhone and other phones use LPDDR4 or LPDDR3, not DDR4. But still, all ddr4 come out the same production line.

A lot of manufacturers have moved to making flash memory (MLC , TLC)  and regular flash memory for cards and usb sticks as it's more profitable compared to regular ram.
Also DDR4 uses more wafer area compared to DDR3 so it's less profitable if you use same fabrication process, and it's also hard to achieve the higher frequencies DDR4 is known for at the low voltages (1.2-1.35v) without going to lower nm fabrication.
So a lot of manufacturers simply reduced production and took their time upgrading their manufacturing lines for DDR4 so there's a decrease in the amount of chips being made. Also keep in mind that some ram manufacturers like Micron for example shifted a part of their capacity to make GDDR5x and GDDR5 at the same time, instead of DDR4, and others may invest heavily in HBM (like Hynix and Samsung) which also take up a number of wafers in the manufacturing plant... so the production of ddr4 is lower and demand is relatively constant or increasing a bit with the launch of ryzen..
But i suspect there was a lot of stock as companies made a lot of ddr4 thinking windows 10 will make people to upgrade but and that didn't happen)

Yup memory prices are governed by a lot of factors. Many believe that after the whole NAND supply issue happened, manufacturers saw that they could charge more and people would still buy it. It seems to be rising more and more. Its also to do with taxes and demand, etc etc.

I took advantage of the three orders with 15% off coupon(max discount of $30), 3-5 day shipping is common on most items.  Keep in mind if you buy a motherboard, RAM, video card or processor you'll need to photocopy the invoice sheet and not the Jet receipt as it was fulfilled by another authorized dealer.  Another headache is 3rd party dealers won't give you game codes so the savings on Jet isn't worth the trade-off. I paid $370 for my EVGA GTX 1070, $250 for an i7 6700(for my HTPC) and a Samsung SSD which was used in a family members' notebook.

As far as the shipping side of Jet, most complaints of RMAs are typically the fulfillment drop shipper didn't package items correctly or mis-labeled their stock. A friend of mine went through two ASUS Z170 ITX mobos as one was missing actual parts on the mobo and the replacement got runover/flattened by FedEx before delivery

August 8, 2016 – Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Jet.com, Inc. today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement for Walmart to acquire Jet for approximately $3 billion in cash, a portion of which will be paid over time. Additionally, $300 million of Walmart shares will be paid over time as part of the transaction.

I wouldn't bother with a reference unless you are going with SLI. They look good together, but IMO not one their own.

There are watercooled Furys, but that's the Fury X that's mainly watercooled.

4GB is the min amount of VRAM a card like that should have. Get the 480

Here is a great deal on the ASUS PB277Q 27" 1ms (GTG) TN Panel Widescreen LCD/LED Monitor, Height, Tilt, Pivot and Swivel Adjustment, Built-in Speakers, Extensive Connectivity  with Native WQHD Content , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-236-721
     I found.
Has a 75Hz refresh rate which I'm sure the 1070 is capable of. Goes for about $340 so it's actually less than you're budget and you'll save money. It is a TN Panel so if the quality of content is what you're looking for there is an IPS model for about $10 more but it does have a 144Hz refresh rate but a 5ms response time.

The FTW does not use a reference design. It uses an 10+2, 2x8pin connectors vs the 8+2, 8+6 pin connectors on the Gaming x. So the ftw card has a better pcb, it looks better (imo), has amazing customer service, and is actually color scheme nuetral. I would get the ftw.

Hmm, I see. Well definitely thanks for the info. I think I just might go with a SATA SSD instead for now at least. Might then move on to other components. But as far as my GPU goes it really needs an upgrade.
