  1. I did the same mod (placed the heatsinks as you did) to my reference Sapphire 5700 XT today but the temperatures worry me. While using Furmark I get the following results using 2x Noctua NF-A12x25 at 1200RPM GPU: 71°C GPU Junction: 98°C Memory Junction: 106°C VRM1: 81°C VRM2: 71°C The temps look okay to me except the memory, should I buy other VRAM heatsinks? What about thermal pads on the backplate, would they help? What would you recommend? @Desh14 How are your vram temps?
  2. I just tried Primocache with my old Samsung 850Evo (250GB) and my Seagate Firecuda (2TB) after seeing this video. For me it really sped up my loading times. I tested it in games like Rainbow Six Siege, Rise of the Tomb Raider, etc. Will using my old SSD as a cache drive wear it out very fast or is it still reasonable?
  3. I read a lot about AMD's Storemi and FuzeDrive which seems to be the same technology, would it help to use my 850 Evo to accelerate my SSHD? Maybe this would also stop the dips in games etc.
  4. Thanks for your recommendations but I'd prefer a pair of headphones over a headset, I don't really need an integrated microphone and 5.1/7.1 audio, good Stereo sound would be enough for me Edit: I went to a local store and tested some out... I wasn't really satisfied with any of the wireless headphones they had so I decided to stick with cabled ones. I'm now using "Audio Technica ATH-M50x", they're a bit heavy if you wear them for too long but I really like the sound
  5. Hello LTT Viewers, I got a question regarding headphones. First of all I'm not an audiophile or anything like that, until now I've been using a pair of Superlux HD681 Evo and I've been pretty happy with them but they unfortunately broke. I thought about something like Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro or similar as a little upgrade but then I might also need a sound card. That's where wireless (bluetooth) headphones came to my mind becasue I don't need a headphone amp when I use one of these, I could take them with me on the go and one cable less isn't bad either. A friend recommended me the "Skullcandy Crusher Wireless" but I read that they are very bass heavy and I mostly listen to Metal/Rock or Ingame sounds from Overwatch/Rainbow Six Siegen so I don't need that much bass. I'd prefer a clear sound. Summary: Budget: max 150$ Sound: Clear Stereo Sound (no 5.1 required and not too bass heavy) Type: Over-Ear I hope you can help me find something decent for the price, thanks to everyone Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't need a headset because I already got a microphone on my desk (Samson Meteor)
  6. Specs say that the hard drive should have 8GB SSD Cache... but after every 3rd or 4th round in civilization it spins up again Edit: Even when opening Windows Settings my SSHD spins up although my whole system is on another drive.. The SSHD should just be a steam libary so why does it get accesed by windows when I open the Settings App?
  7. It's an internal one. Most games don't have a problem with the SSHD turning off because they preload most of the stuff but it seems like Civilization 5/6 doesn't do that. It's really annoying to hear the hard drive turn on and off every 2 minutes, wouldn't it be better for the disk if it just keeps spinning?
  8. Hello everyone, first of all a short overview of my System: CPU: Ryzen5 1600 @3.9Ghz RAM: 16GB Corsair Ram @~3400Mhz MB: Asus B350i Gaming PSU: Corsair SF600 --- Storage Samsung SSD 960 Evo (250Gb) -Windows boot drive Samsung SSD 850 Evo (250Gb) -Fast storage for rendering stuff etc. Seagate Firecuda (2TB) -Storage for games/downloads/... Recently I noticed that whenever I experienced stuttering in games like Civilization V my SSHD started to spin up so I tried to find out more about the problem.. All I found is that it seems like the SSHD automatically stops spinning in standby state and this causes the stuttering because before my pc can access any data the disk has to spin up again first. I already looked into the windows power settings and it's set to never turn off hard disks. Is there something I can do to prevent my this behavior? Could I maybe use a part of my 850Evo as a cache for my HDD or something like that? 2TB SSD Storage is a bit too expensive to upgrade Thanks in advance for your help
  9. Sorry I don't know why this happens. I get the error once a week but most of the time it works fine after a reboot although my ram still doesn't work at 3200Mhz
  10. Did you reinstall Windows with the new mainboard? This and some restarts saved the issue for me
  11. Reinstalling didn't fix the issue, it worked after a couple restarts.. I don't know why exactly but the bug is gone.
  12. I cleaned the surface before applying the heatsinks but the preinstalled tape wasn't the best. If I touch the heatsinks they directly fall off so I ordered a piece of 3M tape on amazon, just waiting for it to arrive.
  13. Hey everyone, a week ago I bought a new mainboard (Gigabyte GA-AX370 Gaming K5) and I really like this one except some small bugs. The ram only runs on 2933Mhz instead of 3200Mhz and another bug that really annoys me. I got a pair of Superlux HD681 Evo connected to my PC and they sound pretty good with the integrated sound but whenever I open the Realtek GUI or restart my PC the headphone amp (called "Headphone Power" in the GUI) gets set back to "level 1". It worked fine some days after I reinstalled windows but now (4 days later) I got this bug again and I don't know why. Maybe someone can help me fixing it (Gigabyte Support wasn't a big help either). Thanks in advance
  14. I tried to place the heatsinks with a little offset (~20%) and it fits under the bracket. Better than no heatsinks at all. I just hope that they don't fall off Thanks for your help
  15. This is how my GTX1060 looked like with the VRAM heatsinks applied. The problem is that I wasn't able to mount the Corsair H75 Pump so I had to remove them again. There is like 2mm free space between the VRAMand the cooling plate and I don't think if there are heatsinks that are low enough to fit. The VRM cooler is enough for a 150W Card though, or?
