  1. That worked! I think there was something wrong with the GPD table (?), but either way, I managed to fix it in PartedMagic Live USB, then successfully clone the current drive onto it using the Samsung software! Still going to be a bit wary of it, but for now, it seems all good. Thank you so much!
  2. I managed to pull up the drive in an old version of Samsung Magician (seemingly it has issues with 840 EVO's in the latest versions) and it says it's all good. The SMART data shows the following:
  3. The partitions were unreadable, I tried a few recovery programs, and nothing was able to get the data back. I have backups so I'm more concerned with just having a functional drive than the data that was on it.
  4. It just says the drive isn't supported (the download page states it should be)
  5. Hey, Windows did an automatic update when I was out, and it seems to have totally wiped and broken my Samsung 840 EVO. The drive shows up in Disk Manager, and list of drives, but I can't format it, write much data to it, access any data that was there. I've tried so many solutions involving deleting and creating partitions, as well as changing the ports and cables it's using. The disk just doesn't seem to want to work properly. It's out of warranty by about 6 months, so thats out fo the question. Any help would be great! Thanks.
  6. I don't think I'll be buying Corsair again, if I'm honest. Back in September my Corsair PSU blew out my motherboard, CPU, and RAM. They wouldn't even RMA the power supply - let alone the parts that it broke. Just disappointed that the premium that is paid for Corsair products didn't help at all in my case.
  7. Other components with LEDs have been fine, I also swapped motherboard back in September - October. My G502 mouse always has the LEDs on and has no problems.
  8. When I first built my computer I went with a lot of Corsair as they have a good reputation, I realise that having a lot of a manufacturers product does mean I'm going to get more defects too, but it just seems a little excessive.
  9. I got a new motherboard last September (ironaically last one was killed by a Corsair PSU) so I don't think so. Plus the LED's on my G502, which are always on, are fine. Same the LED fans.
  10. Have others had as bad experience as me? Am I just unlucky or is there a wider issue regarding their LEDs? Over the past 3 year I've had to RMA the following Corsair products due the the LEDs burning out on them H100i - RGB LED Died within weeks, RMA'd for a new one. H100i - The replacement made it around 6 months before the LED died, couldn't be bother to RMA it again, given I never look at it anyway K70 - The OG K70 with the membrane function keys had the number lock indicator LED die after a year or so. M60 - Blue LED died after a year or so. K70 - This is the most recent one, as of the past week a few of the keys have lost their ability to display red and so I can only mix with blue or green. This is part of a rant, I guess. I paid a premium for Corsair products but just don't seem to get it - that or I'm just extremely unlucky. I don't use the LED's at all really, I only noticed that they stopped working on my K70RGB because it has a pattern it shows when I boot my PC, and the keys that should be red were blue. Sorry if it comes off as rantish or moaning, I just want to get this off my chest.
  11. That's kinda what I was hoping for, I'm getting a new PSU shipped soon. Still don't understand why the E10K is the only output that seems to do it.
  12. Nexus 5, my first good phone, had it since release and it's been amazing since. I'd honestly consider getting another one before pretty much any other phone on the market - the price is just too good for what it does.
  13. Using your computer in the dark to game or general use is weird.
  14. My Fiio E10K has recently begun making electrical interference sounds, getting louder whenever I move the mouse. It started after my motherboard got surged a few weeks back, I've since got a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and case, yet the interference persists. I've tried it on my laptop and there is no interference at all, it also doesn't seem to happen when I use the line out on the E10K. I'm really stumped, it only seems to be there on my desktop, even after changing most of the components. Is it possible it is the power supply? I'm using an old one after my AX750 broke (causing the surge that began this annoyance), it seems like the logical explanation except for the interference ramping up when I move the mouse. Any help would be great, I'd rather not have to RMA another thing this month >.>
  15. I'll give it a shot, you'd think they would have some integrity and just accept their product broke
  16. Which one should I use? There are so many different ones that show up on Google.
  17. It's definitely a manufacturing issue, the warranty stickers are all intact and I don't really see any way for a piece of a chip to break off. I'm honestly really disappointed at this point, I've used Corsair for so many parts and now they want to play games when it comes to replacing something that is their issue.
  18. Never heard of them, how likely are they to help? Does it make a difference if I'm in the UK?
  19. The other day my PC shutdown and wouldn't turn back on. After swapping out components I found that the PSU (Corsair AX750) was dead, and that I could hear rattling inside it. When I turned it upside down a piece of a chip fell out, saying "ROHM SCS 106AG 12 37", I contacted the support to try to RMA it, as it is still within the 5 year warranty put on the PSU, but they are refusing. First, they were saying that the invoice being in plain text was a problem and now they are complaining that the retailer isn't official, so there is no warranty. Has anyone got an idea how I can get Corsair to honor the warranty? Thanks. Edit: Turns out it's a 7 year guarantee, not 5.
  20. I'll give it try, I don't see it as worth the risk, especially after just upgrading.
  21. Doing some upgrades after my mobo died (rip sweet Prince) and I whilst taking the old pc apart I noticed how damaged the tube on my H100i is around the CPU block. It is nearly 3 years old. Here is a picture of the area . The rest of the connections have similar mini cracks. I could also hear the water moving when I tilted it, something I can't remember hearing when I first installed it, so i *think* it might have lost some liquid, though I an not too sure about that.
  22. Thank you so much! Putting the frequency down to 1600 has worked and now it boots with no issues!
  23. I needed to upgrade my RAM, so I bought two HyperX 8GB sticks. The specs are: 1866MHz @1.5v. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P This shouldn't cause any issue with compatibility as it lists compatibility of up to 32GB, 1866Mhz and 1.5v. Yet anytime I attempt to turn on my computer with the new sticks installed, the fans spin up for about 3-5 seconds then the system turns off, it keeps trying to turn on after that but the same thing - fans then turns off. It works completely fine with the old RAM. I've tried using different slots, using 1 stick at a time and gone through the BIOS but nothing seems to work, the same issue keeps occuring. Again, I don't think this is compatibility issues, as none of the specs of the RAM are not listed on the Gigabyte site. My main opinion is that the BIOS settings are not correct, I have briefly gone through it, but nothing looked like it would cause these issues, but I am by no means experienced when using the BIOS. The other option is the sticks are dead, this doesn't seem likely as the odds of both being DOA seems pretty low. Any help would be great, thanks.
  24. Hi, I'm looking at getting a ThinkPad Yoga 15 for Christmas, does anyone know if the included "mini hard drive" ( 16 GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA3 ) is solely for caching, or if the OS comes installed on it with the other hard drive for storage? Thanks.
  25. I was excited for the Strafe, but now I'm really disappointed, especially considering it's barely cheaper than the K70 RGB.
