My dad doubleclicks links and oneclicks files, so after some time the clicks them again and wonders then why the coursor appears and wants him to rename the file.
Also people asking you about their wlan password are horrible.

Rheinwasser reacted to minibois in Minibois' Digital Art Software thread
Over the last couple of years I have tried to educate myself in many of the different digital art programs. Trying out a whole bunch, seeing what software is good for what uses.
This thread will be filled with my opinion of course, but I hope you will see what I mean through the pros and cons. I will also only be focusing on 2D art, as such I didn’t mention any 3D modeling programs. I will also not talk about animation programs (like Adobe Flash, Adobe Animate or OpenToonz), because I’m not an animator.

    What I will cover
    Open-Source/Free:
Gimp Krita Fire Alpaca (Medibang Paint) Inkscape Paint.NET Paid:
Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator Clip Studio Paint Paint Tool SAI Mischief Corel Painter I don’t have bias towards any of the programs, but I have used some (a lot) more than others. My main art programs I use is Gimp. I use Inkscape to play around with vector images and occasionally use Fire Alpaca or Krita. I have used Photoshop a lot too. I will not edit your own opinions, thoughts and other programs to this OP. If you feel different about any of the programs, feel free to leave your opinion in this thread. The OP will be only my opinion.
I have also not used all of these programs, so some of the opinions will be based on other artists I spoke with and reviews I have read and watched. I mentioned everything here will be my opinion and even though I have not used these programs (extensively) I can still give the intended uses, pros, cons and info on these. What will be listed are a programs intended use (by the developer), the uses it works good with, less good with and why. Keep in mind though, every program can be used for every type of art, some just have the tools to make it easier.

    Template:

So let’s get right into it:

    Free programs:
    Program: Gimp.

    Program: Krita.

    Program: Fire Alpaca (Medibang Paint).

    Program: Inkscape.

    Program: Paint.NET.

    Paid software:
    Program: Adobe Photoshop.

    Program: Adobe Illustrator.

    Program: Clip Studio Paint.

    Program: Paint Tool SAI.

    Program: Mischief.

you dont need to reball anything, reballing is only used when you have cracked solder joints, and without the proper tools you WILL kill your card.

You'll need flux, ultrasonic cleaner, precision soldering iron like a Hakko or something like that and a steady hand.

there is no way to clean it without rendering the card useless. also @Rheinwasser this isn't really a result of short circuiting the chip this is corrosion. which distilled water and a glycol can do pretty easily

Nope, that is easily cleaned, I have seen coffee spills been cleaned when the entire board was corroded.

That was alcohol + q-tip then ultrasonic cleaner, it worked but then got reballed to gurantee everything keep working.

reballing is melting the solder balls beneath the IC And removing the chip, then replacing it back down after cleaning or changing chip, then letting the balls cool the chip back on.

There's no cleaning that card. That's corrosion and what looks to me like mold growing on it. That card is ready for a funeral. If it's still magically turning on then that card is no it's last bit of life support and the plug just needs to be pulled. Please put it out of it's misery.

You could pay to have it repaired but it's going to cost just as much to repair it as it would be to fix it. Your friend just needs to move on to a GTX 1060 or  R9 480.

Ultrasonic cleaner and removing each IC possible and cleaning below it to remove corrosion, a logic board repair shop will do this for you.

    Still repaireable.

True, but that doesn't mean they (specifically the water) didn't mix with something and become conductive when on the card.  Because it looks to me like it is caked with something that is neither water nor propylene glycol, and frankly, looks super corroded.

As long as it goes in, should be enough, has he tried using a Q-Tip / Ear cleaner style things to clean it? If you do always swab it in one direction.

My laptop with a mid level core i5, 8gb of ram, and integrated graphics and it will do everything I need in inventor and solidworks just fine. An SSD would be nice since solidworks and inventor are big programs that take a while to open.

For most stuff students do a 750ti is even bit overkill. But my boss can max out his quadro k5000 pretty easily.

With only editing I mean: Are you only going to use this system for CAD or other editing programs and not play games on it. The difference is in view-port wire-frame rendering and double-sided polygon rendering, which is very common in professional CAD/3D software but not in games. To Sum Up: The Quadro rules the single-fixed legacy now obsolete rendering pipeline (which CAD uses)
