    Ryzen OC troubles

It is possible to run the cpu under 1.400volt at 4.1ghz https://valid.x86.fr/3hap2m Theres no doubt about it, you should use a better cpu cooler
  2. https://www.pcgamer.com/msi-wont-be-blocking-ryzen-3000-support-on-all-older-motherboards-after-all/ Linus say naaa What to belive?
  3. Linus even say that msi say it's not recommended to use 400 chipset mb, so more of a reason for me to upgrade, not just because of my vrm, right?
  4. Do i need to upgrade to a different mb to get ryzen 3000 support? (in the last half of the video) My MB is a Msi X370 Gaming Pro Carbon
  5. No im not, i just didn't include any since there is only a demo in the store where i do most of my pc related shopping
  6. Easier to tell you what i can afford and what i know is in stock (from the store i use more than any other) than prices, if nothing unexpected happens i can get a new mb as soon as tomorrow. B450 I could go almost to the top of the line, as high as a ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING, MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC is possible X470 MSI X470 GAMING PLUS, X470 Gaming Pro, GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING, ASRock X470 GAMING K4 only one that is a bit to expensive atm is a ASUS ROG STRIX B450-E Not fan of this Nahimic software msi uses for sound, msi gives me some sound problems with random buzz sound a few time, not a big deal breaker but still something i don't like, so i might avoid msi. I have some experience with gigabytes x470 and the bios is horrible, it's so slow and lagging, so slow and unresponsive i got ticks, got frustrated using the bios. The mb i have sent back for rma is a ASUS PRIME X470-PRO, if they can't find anything wrong with it i have to pay for it to be tested, i also have to take that into account, if im lucky i get a new mb i can sell or even my money back at a time that could be really close to the release of ryzen 3000.
  7. me i did get the prices, just forgot it
  8. It's now and 14 day ahead where i can return my mb and get my money back, in july i can't do that i have to take a loss higher when selling it than what i would cost me to return it (bus, train). So i have to deside now if i want a better mb Because of that hot vrm i might only get a 6 core ryzen 3000. Did any of you hear prices on the 6 cores?
  9. Temps does go above 80c when i benchmark to check max temps on the mb and stability of my cpu
  10. That is 95c mabye not on a hot summer day, in worst case scenario on a hot summer i want my mb to be fairly cool and to run at high oc, without trying to spueeze every little drop,oc out of it. I settled with 3.9ghz because of the hot vrm, i also have a fan and gpu close to the hot vrm. Luckily i don't have a nvme ssd anymore, hot vrm, nvme under the gpu and a rtx 2060 that should only run with the fan on when gaming is not a good cocktail, especially when gaming.
  11. A little on the expensive side
  12. At 4ghz on a ryzen 7 1gen (95c)
  13. NO NO NO Not gonna do some crazy watercooling of my vrm or for that matter more fans. I want to oc a ryzen 3000 6 or 8 core without running into hot vrm, i also want to oc my ryzen 7 1700 a bit more, the limited for me would be my vrm (see link), i don't see my cpu as a limiting factor as long as i don't expect it to run more than 4ghz, i just have to deside when i still can return my msi mb, if i want to do that now i know after i have bought the mb that an 8 core at 4.0ghz makes the vrm insanely hot. Of course all that is at max load on a mabye not so hot day, on a hot day the vrm could still get hot when gaming or at high oc on one of the new 6 or 8 core ryzen. Alone because of that i changed back to my air cpu cooler and 4 fans instead of an aio i actually liked with one case fan in the front bottom and one close to the i/o panel as the only case fans.
  14. Here it get's hot at 4.0ghz, which i would love to run my ryzen 7 1700 at until i can get a good deal on one of the new 6 or 8 core ryzen 3000, i want to run my cpu without my mb being the limit for the oc. One that can handle a ryzen 8 core at 4.2- 4.3ghz would be fine, since ryzen 3000 is gonna be more cool and efficient, ryzen 3000 8 core might be alot cooler at 4.5ghz then ryzen 2700 at 4.2-4.3ghz
