I recently just bought a 144hz 24 inch monitor because I wanted to play games with a bigger screen.It supports 144hz@DP and 120hz@HDMI&DVI. My laptop is Msi GL65 9sdk with 1660ti and a 15.6 inch 120hz screen. It has a HDMI and mini DP output. Currently using the mini DP to DP cable to connector to my monitor. With output to the external screen only(so the screen only my laptop is turned off) So the problem is that I could not get a 144 fps with the monitor while using browsers. I first found out when I was watching Netflix ,Youtube and basically videos. They felt super laggy especially when there are the object in the videos are moving.Scrolling in the browsers are also not smooth (smooth scrolling is enabled in the setting). And I used this https://www.vsynctester.com/ to check and I could only get 80,90 fps tops while it did indicate that my monitor is 144hz. Ive tried mozilla fox,chrome and edge and its all the same.Im not sure if this happens on other applications (probaly couldnt notice it)but I did try to watch videos with windows video player and it did feels laggy like I mentioned. However when duplicate the second screen or extend to the second screen, I could get 120fps on both screen(smooth browsing and all) but thats just my laptop screen refresh rate and i wanna go at least 144fps with the laptop screen of But when I play Rainbow six siege I could get 144fps (in the game) and above with no problems at all. In the setting in the game, it was set to 1080p 144hz. I also tried watching youtube with the games still playing and still getting laggy 80,90fps in browsers. Ive checked and updated all drivers in the device manager under display adapters and monitors. All the advance display settings in Windows and Nvidia control panel are set to 144hz and the GPU running browsers are set to 1660ti gpu. Thats all I know and tried. Really don't know where the problems are. Be glad if someone has any solution to fix my problem. thanks.

nice suggestion but noting abt power ram gpu or so. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612. ) THIS ALERT CAME UP WHEN I TRIED TO LOAD THE GAME. I dont really understand this do u know anything?

I did check with HWmonitor so it could be a psu problem? so ill fix it as long as i swap the old one to a new psu?

Its enough to play the games and my friends can play with even lower specs. BTW I can hardly load up the game. check this guy out he can play with the same cpu and gpu as mine

So Ive downloaded PUBG and when I open the game.The game goes loading but the computer will suddenly shut down just right before entering the lobby.WTF??!! So Ive tried re-download the game many times on either SSD OR HDD.Ive also clean the dust in my computer completely and check all the parts connecting properly.And I also tried it with H1Z1(as they are quite similar games) and the same thing happened!!!But this time it shut down while queuing for a match. But I used to play H1Z1 fine with no problem at all(i had not play it for 4,5months tough). But my computer had no problem with other games like tf2,gta5,l4d2,sf2,Hitman and so on.It only happens on PUBG and H1Z1. Sadly my i5 2400 died...and I was originally planning to only upgrade it when AMD zen is out .... But now it's died much earlier than I expected so I am thinking of the Pentium G4560 as its cp value is just amazing and it'll should do just fine with some gta and ava,right?(hoping to save some money for ssd and 1151 would be upgradable in the future?) Or should I wait for the lower line of Zen?(not sure of the releasing date and so on) So any suggestions?my budget for CPU is around 150USD but if I can cut it down for a ssd would be nice~

Getting the RX480 but the gpu comes with a 8pin connector while my psu only has a 6pin connector for the gpu..... My psu is Powerex REX 500AS 80+Bronze.It's a 500w psu The rest of the system is i5 2500 XIGAMATEK 9mm COOLER Msi H61m p25 7200rpm HD basically that's all~so what should I do??

I'm currently using the i5 2400 but my Gts250 is now too old to run certain games like TF2,AVA,GTA V,BF and so on(not sure why tough it used to play em' just fine)... So I'm thinking maybe I should upgrade the whole system to i5 6400 or 6500~with the AMD 480~ Or should I just keep the i5 2400(Cuz I've heard that the 2400 is not any worse than the 6400,is 2400 still able to pull off for some time?) and upgrade the card first and wait for AMD Zen (I'm really excited for one but just quite uncertain about the release date) Any advice or suggestion? Current system i5 2400 MSI h61m ADATA 8GB 1300 GIGABYTE Gts250

So i re-plugged all the power connectors and rams....still the same problem.It beeps and the hd runs for 2seconds and again the power goes off,repeatedly.Is the system juz dead or something or something wrong with certain components?

Not sure where i shld post this problem but anyways... My computer couldnt start up..i pressed the power button and the fans goes on and u can here the beep but then the power juz suddenly goes off and on and so on....... However once in a while(2weeks maybe) you will be able to start it up and you'll be using the computer for around 2hrs just fine and suddenly it just shuts down(the power juz runs out) and the problem starts again..... I mean even if the gpu died the computer should still start up right?

Will 500w be enough? So is it becuz of overloading of the 6 pin connector..but it worked fine earlier on

Yeah a bit tight on the budget~how big is the difference~wouldnt it be ok if i play those games on high 1080p with a suitable gpu like gtx960 or r9 380~and hows the difference between 6100 and 6300

how about the r9 380vs the gtx 960~becuz u know we hv alot of nvidia here and little amd choices to have

any real cheap gpu that will do high settings and playable fps~
