I was blessed with being chosen to receive a copy of Battlefield V in @King Poet's latest status giveaway! :D

And now, here's an analysis of its system requirements in reference to Hex.  ("Hex?" you ask?  Scroll to my "System" section.)

Ok, so the i5-6600k has FAR better IPC and 4-core performance than an i7-4790 does.  So why is it the minimum requirement?

Well, Battlefield V was made using the legendary Frostbite engine, which evenly spreads processing loads across up to 16 threads.  Plus, the i7-4790 has better multicore performance thanks to hyperthreading.   The CPU requirement is definitely based on multicore performance.

Hex beats the recommended CPU requirement! :D

My RAM when playing Battlefield V (circa 2018, colorized):

Yeah, 8GB ain't what it used to be.  I can fill it up with Google Chrome kinda easily now.  Which is why I asked for a 16GB kit for Christmas.  Might get it, might not, idk for sure.  (found a smokin' Black Friday deal on a G.Skill kit while browsing Newegg with my dad, so we'll see...)

At least 8GB is enough to run it.

This is where things get kinda interesting.  I bought Hex so that the GTX 660 minimums would stop kicking my ass.  (My "old" Acer had a GTX 950m.)

Mission Accomplished there!

However, I have a GTX 1060 Max-Q, not an actual 1060.

Hex gets burnt here.  IIRC, the 1060 Max-Q is right in the middle between the desktop 1050 Ti and 1060 6GB.  It is also right in the middle between a GTX 960 and GTX 970.

Based on Techspot's benchmarks, I should get 55-60 fps with 45-50 minimums on 1080p Ultra with a GTX 1060 Max-Q in an ideal setting that I don't quite have (thanks 8GB RAM! ?).  I don't want less than 60 fps in an FPS, so I'll probably have to go with high settings or a medium/high hybrid.  Still gonna look gorgeous, though!!!

Can't put it with my other Origin games. :(

At least I can put it on my storage SSD! :DxD
