WooZ_Lv got a reaction from J.b091 in Do you really need a fancy I5 or even I7 to play games at 1080p?
    Hi.
I did make a short and simple video showing performance of I3 and I7 in 1080p gaiming.

Do you really need a fancy I5 or even I7 to play games at 1080p? The answer is no!
Yeah, everyone want to see 1440p or 2160p gaming benchmarks where I3 will be crushed by bigger brothers, but to be clear most of people are using 1080p or even lower resolution.
1440p or 2160p are for enthusiasts at least for now
With I3 at 1080p you can play games with highest settings but it mostly deppends on your grapchics card.
In CPU heavy games I3 will strugle but most games are heavy on GPU. So you can save money on CPU and saved money use on GPU.

I used I3-4150 and I7-4770 and Asus GTX 1070 Strix (not overclocked, but only changed the power and temp limit)
I7 will outperform I3 everywhere, but is that worth at that price difference?
Most negative using I3 for games are sometimes big FPS drops, but average FPS stays at pretty playable zone.

Just checking into this since I got a PM that was concerned we were trying to conceal the Dbrand product placement and that was worried about us running afoul of sponsorship disclosure laws. Here's what I had to say about Switch Girl in response:

Clearly we were wrong in the sense that people didn't think it was funny.

If it's not going to be near any power lines and you don't have a group of like 10 to 20+ cables together, you'll be fine with UTP cable. The plugs won't matter either way since you strip off the outside cover to expose the colored wires anyway.

    Some updates.

Even the most perfect case needs some modding
Just one thing that is wrong with this case is that there is a place for the top fans above radiator, but because of frame I can't fit them there.
    But Dremel always helps

Btw thank god I have flexible tubing

First of taking everything out and taping place where to cut.

After sweat and blood its done. After I took this picture I made some modification for fan screws.

And the difference was huge. It seems 25mm isn't much, but from visual standpoint it's much.

Last week I found a nice deal where someone from Oslo (I am from Trondheim) sold EVGA SC+ 980ti with an EK water block for a 3500NOK (395 Eur). Of course I put my 980ti for sale at the same price. and a few days later I sold my 980ti. Because of that I got a water block for free and a bit smaller PCB.
The only thing I had to buy was 2 fittings and 2 plugs. Simple but easy to get here in town. Here is only one shop for enthusiasts, but hey had over 50 fittings but zero plugs...
So while I am waiting for my plugs from EK I put plugs from reservoir to gpu and for reservoir I am using plugs that was on the radiator (1 on the top, 1 next by outlet)

Draining is a pain in the ass.. With a front 360 radiator upgrade I will add drain plug in the basement. (that isn't my 1070 its my friends)

    Almost done!

And done. We decided to try other colors before i go PETG tubing.

I know 240 rad isn't enough for CPU+GPU but without overclock my max temps are CPU - 67 and GPU - 53
I changed the rear fan to intake but only when the temps exceeds 60 degrees on the CPU.
A bit later I will add front 360 rad and maybe PETG tubing

and what makes you think everyone will want to quickly upgrade? some people would just get something like an i5 and rx 470, then leave the pc untouched for years. what is smart is that you get a balanced set of components now and upgrade in the future when you need it,  what is stupid is to get a crap cpu and top-tier GPU, just to find out that it bottlenecks so badly you can't properly enjoy your pc and you need to spend even more on components you should have gotten in the past.

The specs page of your router says it all...

"Wired LAN Interface: Speed and Flow Control 10/100 Mb/s, Auto-Sensing, Auto MDIX Number of LAN Ports 4 x RJ-45 Number of WAN Ports 1 x RJ-45"

The wired ports only do 10/100 on that router.  Look for one with Gigabit ports.
