Rubi8602 reacted to Crunchy Dragon in RX 560 Price Increase?!
Oh it is, even GTX 900 series cards are being sold for more than their value.
Usually Kepler(700 series) cards are the best, in terms of price/performance currently.

It's not just the RX 560, it's anything above an RX 550 and GT 1030.

Don't use it though! Just put the files on it - disconnect and let it gather dust on a shelf. Thankfully they age gracefully.

Rubi8602 reacted to FIXXX in Strange sound from HDD.
Basically any sounds from the HDD other than the normal - are a bad sign. I'd use it just for storing an extra-extra backup of media or something - if it's big enough.

backup your data and get a new storage solution, its dying.

That could potentially cause problems due to the CPU not getting enough power. You might want to see if you can change that, either by getting a new power supply or maybe with an adapter (not sure if those exist).

If you can't get your hands on that power supply the guy is saying he might give you, yeah that definitely should work

The 210 can draw all the power it needs from the motherboard, but the 650 requires more power and needs to draw some extra from the psu.

I can't find a lot of info on the quality of your power supply, but considering your power supply has a bunch of molex power connectors it would be possible to buy a molex to 6 pin pcie adapter in order to power your graphics card. So you could theoretically do that.

You won't be able to use the 4 pin connectors for your graphics crad, since those are meant for your cpu.
Those two large 4 slot connectors on the bottom photo are molex ports, you could buy a molex to 6 pin adapter, though I'd like to know what psu and cpu you have to make sure the system has enough wattage.

In the future, remember to quote people by using the little reply button under their posts so that they can see that you replied .
Could I have all the specifications for your PC by the way?
And if your power supply does not have a 6 pin power connector, then you need a new power supply.
Graphics cards can have power through 6 and 8 pin power connectors. CPUs can have power through 4 or 8 pin power connectors. HOWEVER, you can't plug a CPU 8 pin power connector into a Graphics card or plug a graphics card 8 pin connector into a CPU. the shape is slightly different. I suggest you get a new power supply.

Look on the side of your graphics card, if there is a 6 pin or 8 pin connector you will need to get a power supply which has the required pins

3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0
Doesn't it have a 6-pin power connector? If it does, did you plug the corresponding cable into it?

Rubi8602 got a reaction from Crinxx in Some info about ZOTAC nVIDIA GeForce GTX 750?
@Crinxx I used to play games on 800x600 on small amout of fps, so it's totally fine if I don't get even medium settings. I want GPU just to run games smooth, not to explode because are too powerfull and do not have to upgrade any other part. Thanks for the answer!

Hey Rubi8602!
I currently have the Zotac GeForce GTX 760 AMP! and I'm totally fine with it. It's kinda outdated, but as you say, the GTX 750 is in your budget and should do fine for most games at 1080p and medium settings. As rTenshi mentioned there'll probably be better options within your budget but to answer your question:
Zotac and other companys like MSI modify the GPUs. Mainly they put a different cooler on it for better temperatures. Sometimes they also play around with the GPU's speed and overclock them for better performance.
Personally I can recommend Zotac because I haven't had any trouble since I have my card. But maybe another graphics card than the GTX 750 will do better.

Wow, your PC is slow. I would recommend a GTX 950 over the 750.
But I'm unsure if your CPU could handle the GTX 950

Where are you getting the information that certain GPUs aren't compatible with your motherboard? I'm curious because ddr5 video cards should be able to work with your mobo.
-
Rubi8602 reacted to SpaceGhostC2C in Better specifications, worse performance
Simply the computer with a better graphics card is doing better in graphics benchmarks. I don't see anything strange there.
-
Rubi8602 reacted to DocSwag in Better specifications, worse performance
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT GET IT.
As @wkdpaul said there is no good reason to ever get a gt GPU for gaming. That GPU is bad and isn't worth the money for gaming. Look for a used GPU but not a used "gt" GPU. Look for a GTX one or some decent AMD GPU.
-
Rubi8602 reacted to WkdPaul in Better specifications, worse performance
Like I said earlier, the GT series isn't worth the money! Same with the R7 240 and 250 ...
For the same price with a used GPU you're gonna get better performances;
GT 730 vs HD7750 (scroll down to find Average User Bench)
GT 730 vs HD7770 (scroll down to find Average User Bench)
GT 730 vs GTX 650ti (scroll down to find Average User Bench)
For the budget you REALLY should look into a used GPU, you'll have better performance for the money, also forget trying to resell a GT730, it's not worth much as a used card.
