  1. DDR4 3000 with CL 15 or save my $20 and get DDR4 2666 with CL 16? Just mainly interested in gaming performance. Is the extra speed with my $20 or should I just save some money. My CPU is an i7 8700K.
  2. Yeah unfortunately the Phanteks case doesn't have enough clearance to mount the rad at the top.
  3. How should I set up my fans for my H100i and in my Phanteks P400 case? I was thinking about doing it like the picture below. Any recommendations or tips?
  4. I got offered $750 CAD for my GTX 1070 and I was debating about whether or not I should sell it. I paid $620 after tax for it last year in June. I heard that the Volta GPUs are going to get announced in roughly 4-6 months from now so would it be a smart move to sell my GTX 1070 right now? The only real games that I play are Fortnite, NBA 2K18, Siege Six and maybe some Forza Horizon 3 on the occasion. I don't really think I need a powerful graphics card as of right now since most of the games I play aren't that hard to run. I have a GTX 760 that I have as a spare and I was thinking about maybe selling the GTX 1070 and run my GTX 760 until the Volta GPUs come out. Any thoughts?
  5. Get a pair of Sennheiser HD598 and get a Modmic. The soundstage on them is amazing. You'll hear all the footsteps in FPS games. They are open back headphones hence the reason why the soundstage is so good but they will leak sound if that's a concern for you. Also they don't really have a lot of bass if that's what you're into.
  6. Beats are actually decent ever since Apple acquired them. I own both the Jaybird X3 and Beats X. The nice thing about the Beats X is that it comes with the new W1 Chip which makes it connecting to Apple devices really quick. Both the Jaybird X3 and Beats X are probably the best bluetooth earphones if you're looking for convenience.
  7. Jaybird X3 if you're using an Android device and Beats X if you're using them on Apple devices.
  8. Does anyone know if the new Coffee Lake CPU have the same cheap thermal paste issues that caused the super high temperatures on the Kaby Lake CPUs?
  9. Thanks everyone! Ended up getting the phone yesterday
  10. So I'm currently using my OnePlus One since the day since it got announced. The phone itself has been great and does everything I need it to do with pretty much no lag. The only real issue I have with it is that the battery life is complete garbage now and that it overheats on the occasion. I'm really debating if I should just buy a Galaxy S8 tomorrow or if I should wait until the Galaxy S9 which might not even be available for me to purchase until April 2018. There is a killer deal on Freedom Mobile (Canada) right now that has a plan with 6 GB LTE and $200 off a Galaxy S8 if I pair it up with a $65 plan. So my question is do I buy the S8 right now or wait another 6-7 months with my OPO with terrible battery to wait until they announce Galaxy S9?
  11. Yeah I looked at delidding the CPU but the kit and liquid metal would end up costing me $70.
  12. My i7 7700K has gets terrible temperatures. It always hits like 80-90 Celsius on stock speeds. I already tried re doing the thermal paste and even resitting my CPU cooler but the temperatures remain the same. Someone offered me to take my i7 7700K for $400 CAD and I found a brand new sealed i7 6700K for $370. I'm debating if I should sell my 7700K and get a 6700K since the 6700K has way better thermals.
  13. My i7 7700K hovers around 65 Celsius to 75 Celsius on stock speeds for gaming on a beefy Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 heatsink. However on Prime95 it runs at 88 Celsius max which is very high for stock speeds. It's most likely due to me having a bad chip but most people report that their i7 7700K still run extremely hot.
  14. Hey man I have the same situation! I have the Dark Rock Pro 3 and at 100% load on Prime 95 I hit around 87-89 Celsius on stock speeds. I even re seated my cooler twice and applied thermal paste properly and it still didn't fix my temperatures. I think you should probably try looking into delidding the CPU. I asked Intel about my issue and they offered me a replacement CPU.
  15. My i7 7700K runs crazy hot even on stock settings. I have a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 heatsink too and yes I did not install anything wrong if you're wondering maybe that's why my temperatures are soo high. I'm pretty sure I just have a bad chip. However even with that in mind Kaby Lake still runs pretty hot. If you do plan to get an i7 7700K you probably want to invest in delidding because the temperatures drop quiet a bit if you do delid (Drops almost a solid 10-15 Celsius)
