  1. Hey, so tomorrow I'm buying a new gaming/3d modeling pc for arround 850 euros (Im in Portugal). I've been choosing the components for over a month now, and this is the final build: Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 Asus h87m-pro Kingston Beast 8gb (4x2) Samsung 840 EVO 120gb WD Caviar blue 1TB ASUS gtx660 Bitfenix prodigy m So, what do you think? Oh and are those parts all compatible? It's my first build, so I'm really afraid... EDIT: forgot to mention, the psu is a XFX pro 550W

  5. Hi guys, I wanted to know if these sticks of ram: http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/?partid=KHX16C9T3K2/8X will fit in this mobo: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87MPLUS/ I think so but in the asus support page, on the memory compatibility this ram wasn't listed. Thanks!
  6. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H87MPRO/#support see in the cpu support
  7. here in portugal the i5 is cheaper than the xeon. For the mobo, I want to go with asus and if i want to fit the xeon in it, the mobo must have usb bios flachback, that's the only way it will accept the xeon
  8. I'm in a competition where we have to make a car and i often use the flow simulation
  9. oh one thing that i usually do is rendering images from solidworks. In this case the xeon is way better isn't it?
  10. and in programs like adobe premiere?
  11. but xeon has hyper threading and more cache
  12. video editing is just for fun but i use solidworks very often
  13. 4770K is really overbudget. Oh and i will use a prodigy m and I couldn't find a decent mATX mobo for am3+
  14. I'm planing to buy a new pc for gaming, video editing and 3d modeling, so should i go for the xeon e3-1230-v3 or the 4670k and overclock it? Will the oc 4670k beat the xeon?
  15. Hey, so I'm building a pc this Christmas and I was thinking in these specs: Intel Xeon E3-1230-v3 Asus H87M-PRO Kingston HyperX beast 8gb (2x4) XFX Pro 550W WD caviar blue 1TB Samsung 840 Evo 120gb Bitfenix Prodigy M ASUS gtx660 2gb I'll be using the pc for 1080p gaming and using programs like Solidworks, and Photoshop. My budget is 700 euros
  16. But i would have to spend more money in a z87 mobo and a decent cooler to OC
  17. I'm building a new pc for gaming and editing and i want to know wich one to go for. I would really like to go with the xeon but I'm afraid it won't work with the motherboard I'm using: Asus h87m-pro. I was thinking about the 4670 as a replacement. What do you think?
