PC died while i was using it, keeps turning on and off, after all sorts of tests, cleaning CMOS, checking ram, cpu, etc in my other PC,
during my tests i found out that it turns on and stays on only if i disconnect the 8 pin cable from the motherboard, but there's no display, nothing
but error code 00, lights and fans spinning, which means 8 pin cable is probably faulty.
my PSU is 650w bronze 80+ non modular so i can't switch the cables, the PSU in my other PC is just an old generic one and has a 4 pin cable so switching
PSUs is irrelevant.
i bought a PCI-E 6-Pin female to CPU 8 (4+4) Pin 12v EPS Adapter but it doesn't fix the problem, when i power it on it turns on and off again and again
just like when the original cable was connected so it's the port and not the cable? or the adapter is just not good? i tested 2 units of the same adapter,
none worked.
is there any other way to fix this problem? maybe other compatible adapters? is it the port on the motherboard? do i have to buy a PSU?
it's all getting a little bit confusing...
