Depends where you're shopping/located, price range, and what the system's being used for.

To be fair, same is basically true with a computer, between the drivers, the windows updates and what not, you really need to have a internet access to fully realize your machine. Not that this isn't amusing. I highly doubt it, absolutely no point in that right now. DDR4 is still scarce and expensive, two things you don't want your entire platform to be, and to this point the performance difference between current top end DDR3 chips and DDR4 just isn't wide enough to justify it.

I'm new to this forum and what better to introduce myself than show you my rig and planed updates. Here is my project Redefine. It's based of Fractal Designs define mini.

The build is in it's late stages but i tought i'll sare it with you. Things I've done so far
360 mod. It's mod I done so the case would accommodate 360 radiator in the front. I removed all hdd cages and 5,25" bay and cut the front of the case and made a custom bracket.

Window mod. It consists of two windows on the case so it could show the inside of the case. One is on the side panel and other one is on the top.

Painted the case with structure spray to set the finis off from the standard powdercoat.

Cable sleeving with paracord.

SSD mod. I made custom bracket to mount the ssd in the back of the mobo tray.

False floor. I cut the aluminum to cover the fan holes in the bottom of the case.

Cable management bracket. So I could tidy up the back of the motherboard tray.

Paint and carbon fiber vinyl on the front.

I am with you on the looks, and its very inexpensive. I might pick one up. That is a really cheap HDMI cable.

There are over 30 reviews and the lowest rating it's gotten is 4 stars.
Monoprice.com has a reputation of great quality products and service. Any site that rates retailers gives them a 9-10 rating on everything but shipping. They usually get a 8-9 on that one.
The reason some people gave that keyboard 4 stars is because the print (the letters on the key caps) wears off quickly, apparently. The LED's for the num lock, scroll lock, and caps lock are very bright, and the space bar feels "weird" to one person.
I bought one. It's in the mail now. I trust Monoprice as I've bought lots of stuff from and it's always great quality, no matter the price.
HDMI cables for $5 (as compared to $20-$80 from Best Buy) for example.
I don't care what it looks like because it is cheap. I only care that it is mechanical. I can replace the key caps later from www.wasdkeys.com if need be, and I can put scotch tape over them or solder resistors to the keyboard if I want to make the LED's less bright.

No you don't get arrested, but windows will not download security updates etc. anymore. It will also tell you that windows is not genuine.

Ok guys calm down, what we can agree on is that the i3 is still a decent option for gaming  and yes it might bottleneck but not to a degree where its not playable. I also didnt use the linus way of benchmark. Instead i ran around and that sort of stuff so its more of a realistic benchmark. Btw in far cry 4x ssao makes it unplayable at 27fps average and same with tomb raider. Im gonna try having two and even  three screen benchmarks to see the powerful but that will be 3x 1680x1050 as one screen is 1680x1050.

Completely agree with this the 770 is for high performance 1080p gaming and doesn't have the VRAM or bus width to compete well with the 7970 GHz at higher resolutions 

And here's the reason: "All games were run at 2560x1600 resolution".
The 770 will win every matchup at 1080p except in certain very AMD friendly games.
 
The 780 is the 1600p card and the Titan is the multi-monitor card. Thus we have three cards with their niche, testing the 770 at 2560x1600 against 7970 makes little sense and ignores it's target audience.

690 kills Titan as well, Titan is an over-hyped over-priced chip, people should stop comparing other cards to it !
Back on topic, I'm actually shocked to see the 7970 establish such a large lead in Skyrim, didn't expect that.

Doesn't linus' wife use a pc with just a large heatsink and no fan? ( maybe I am misunderstanding the question.)

In my hometown, "computer" includes the case, guts, monitor, keyboard and all the other stuff. But when they're referring to the case and its guts, they call it "CPU" which I get annoyed every time I hear it.

$400 would be a fair price. Anything higher and I'll definitely pass on it. 

I really want to see AMD pull through, but I don't know if this will do it for them.
