  1. That's good to know, but I'm mostly concerned the GPU holder won't have room to fit under the GPU. If the graphics card takes up 3.5 slots and the holder takes up 3, is there room for both?
  2. The case is a Corsair 5000t. Apologies for not mentioning that.
  3. I'm interested in ASUS ROG Wingwall Graphics Card Holder. Apparently it takes up 3 PCIe slots. I will be installing a ASUS ROG Strix 4090 in an ASUS Maximus Hero mobo. Is there room for this graphics card holder?
  4. Do you think there is a major difference between 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6400MHz C38 vs 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6600MHz C32?
  5. What wireless headset do you think has the best microphone quality?
  6. Hmm, that does make it a tough decision then. I'm going to read that article and think about it some more, but if you think you would rather not bifurcate the PCIe slot in favor of a PCIe 5.0 SSD, then I guess I'll just go with the Samsung 980 pro SSDs.
  7. Thanks for your response. This is an interesting consideration. I take it that bifurcating the PCIe slot my 4090 would be using would slow it down a lot?
  8. I heard that future games (especially in UE5 engine) will require those next-gen SSDs. This was majorly advertised when the PS5 first came out. Something about loading objects in a new way or something.
  9. I was hoping to get 2 Samsung 990 pro PCIe 5.0 SSDs when they come out later this month, but it looks like all the ASUS z790 mobos don't support them or if they do you need to purchase something separate called an "rog hyper m.2 card" and even then it only lets you run 1 PCIe 5.0 card. Am I understanding this correctly and if so, what are some other z790 mobo options that have at least 1 or more PCIe 5.0 SSD slots?
  10. Thanks for the info. Honestly, I have no idea what 1/2DPC or 1/2R means. Could you tell me if this RAM works with this mobo: RAM: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-RGB-DDR5-—-Black/p/CMH32GX5M2X6600C32?utm_source=PCPartPicker_79301&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=497986_CORSAIR US Product Catalog Ad&utm_content=Corsair&clickid=1tlwLGw0NxyLTgkwUx0Mo36oUkDVxN39QxKvyI0&utm_coupon=Content&irgwc=1#tab-tech-specs Mobo: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-e-gaming-wifi-model/spec/ I'm not sure it matters, but ASUS does advertise the following about their motherboards: "ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile II (AEMP II) is an exclusive firmware feature for PMIC-restricted memory modules. AEMP II is based on a CPU and memory module’s ability to train the memory chips on your kit, and it presents an optimized clock speed that can effortlessly unleash performance. Built through a flexible training method, AEMP II makes it easy to not only tune the memory above baseline settings but also maintain the stability of system operation, whether getting the most out of an entry-level module or priming a high-speed kit for ultimate performance."
  11. I just heard something about the new z790 mobos only being able to run up to 5600MHz RAM. Is that correct? I was hoping to get 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6600MHz C32 for an ASUS z790 mobo (either the Hero or the -e model). Will that work? ASUS website advertises something about ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile II (AEMP II) and boosting to higher speeds, but I don't really understand it. On the mobo specs it does say "6600(OC)" so maybe it is supported?
  12. That's good to know. I had no idea, but that does appear to be the case.
  13. Thanks for the info. The case is the Corsair 5000T so it does have holes above the PSU shroud. I like this PSU because of the design. It has cool RGB and an OLED screen that shows the wattage.
  14. I'm getting the ASUS Thor P2 power supply and it's the first PSU I have had that is oriented with the fan facing up instead of down. Will I have to periodically take it out and dust it off with compressed air? What's the worst that could happen if I just let that dust build up?
  15. If I don't do any overclocking is the power draw pretty much the same for the i9-13900k and i7-13700k? I had previously asked if a 1000w PSU was enough for a 4090 and a 13700k (apparently it is), but now I'm considering a 13900k and I'm worried 1000w won't be enough.
  16. Does it matter if my PC is plugged into the wall outlet vs a surge protector? I keep hearing “power draw from the wall” and it got me wondering.
  17. Thanks for everyone's response. Perhaps I should have stated that I'm talking about a bottleneck while playing in 4k resolution. It looks like we'll just have to wait and see which is a little unsettling because I've already pre-ordered the 13700k.
  18. I keep hearing people talk about the RTX 4090 being CPU bottlenecked. Do you think it will still be bottlenecked with the 13700k? If so, maybe I should consider the 13900k instead.
  19. I like the concept of a VR world, but it's way too early for something like this to be realized. It reminds me of the Google Stadia. Cloud gaming still has many years to go before being viable.
  20. You make some good points that I will take into consideration. Mostly, I'm going by this review: https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus-rog-swift-pg42uq-oled I'll be using this monitor with a RTX 4090 and i7-13700k.
  21. Certainly the LG C2 is the other option I'm considering. Right now I'm leaning towards the ASUS because of the uniform brightness feature, better text clarity, marginally higher refresh rate, and the heatsink which allows it to get brighter and reduces image retention. The C2 probably does look nicer in a completely dark room though.
  22. Probably a very dumb question, but I want to get a 360mm Corsair AIO (Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD) and install it to the top of my new PC case. I'm wondering if by default those fans will pull in air from the case to cool the radiator or if they push air away from the radiator and into the case.
  23. I heard the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ had an issue with the much advertised uniform brightness feature, but it was supposed to be fixed in a firmware update. Does anyone know if it has been properly fixed yet? I'm strongly considering this monitor and am trying to figure out some of the cons (other than the matte finish).
  24. Thanks, that's what I had thought, but someone else was trying to persuade me to get the 13900k and I was getting mixed feelings about my i7-13700k preorder.
  25. Should I get the i9-13900k or the i7-1300k? I only do gaming and it will be paired with a RTX 4090. What are the advantages of the 13900k? If I remember right, the difference in FPS between the 900k and 700k series has historically been like less than 5 FPS (at high resolutions). Are there other things I should consider like the 1% lows or frame stability?
