  1. Hey guys, I need some help here. As the title says I have a RTX 3090 Phantom and it is just so noisy and hot. It's sitting in a Fractal Design Define R6 case, at the bottom. I am looking for cooling options for it, but seems like EK won't be making a block for it So I am wondering, what are my options here?? I was hoping to avoid going full water cooling, and was crossing my fingers trying to find an AIO complete closed loop water cooling solution to mount on it. You would think there would be a market for it at least regarding the 3090's as they get so hot. Grateful for any tips or help regarding this problem!
  2. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX3070. I want to use it for work as well in the office, so I tried hooking it up to a Thinkpad Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock. Just tried with 2 old HP 24" 1920x1200 monitors via the DP ports in the dock and I got what seems like inverted colors on the 2 external monitors? Does anyone know why this happens? EDIT: It seems to be a power issue. I had to connect the 300W power brick as well and cycle the HDR setting on the internal laptop monitor to get it to work.
  3. Kinda makes me wonder if you will run into problems if you ever need to upgrade your ram though ? Can you just buy another 16GB kit with the same part number, or do you need to buy a 32GB kit to be able to make it work? ?
  4. Nice! Will do! Yeah, this is my first AMD rig since the Duron days, lol. Came from an Ivy Bridge build before this one, figured my trusty old 3770K deserved a break after running rock stable at 4,5 Ghz the last six years. Would love to hear about those other tweaks aswell! Is there any point in manually overclocking the 2700x, or are you better off with just letting it do its own thing?
  5. Solved it! It was just me noobing (who needs a manual when you're old at this game :P) when I put this thing together. Moved the modules from slots B1, A1 to slots B2, A2 on the motherboard. Problem solved! The ram is now running on 3600 Mhz on 1.38volts!
  6. I tried what you wrote above, setting the SOC to 1.1v and going as far as 1.48 on the ram voltage and 1.45 on the boot voltage..... strange. You have even tighter timings on your ram and still get it to work
  7. hmmm, have not pushed it to 1.5 yet, but did not get post on 1.45 atleast.... In lack of a better term, could it be that my ram is meant for intel cpus+mobo instead?
  8. Yes, I have tried the DOCP profile already, can't get the system to post then. Will try out those new settings, thanks!
  9. Hi everyone, I got a kit of G.Skill Trident Z ram (2x8GB 3600MHz (PC4-28800) DDR4 CL16 1.2V 288pin Unbuffered DIMM) Part number: F4-3600C16D-16GTZR And can not for the life of me get these things to run on at 3600Mhz on my Ryzen 7 2700x rig with the Asus crosshair vii hero motherboard. I have tried the pre-set profiles aswell as adjusting the timings etc in the bios. Does anyone have any experience regarding this ram kit and these components? Or do I straight up have the wrong ram? From what I have read these should be one of the best kits to get, but now I'm just at my wit's end with these. Any help or tips is appreciated
  10. Hi, I recently purchased a Synology 1813+, and I'm really impressed so far. But the thing eating me now, is that after expanding a SHR-2 volume consisting of 4x2TB Samsung SpinPoints and 2x3TB WD Reds with another 2x3TB WD Red's (needed the last two for backup as I was coming over from another NAS) my used space went up from 3,784 TB used (which is what i measure when adding all the data on the shares together) to 6,37 TB used space on the volume. What on earth is using 2,586 TB that i can't see?? And if I have to take the volume down to recreate it, are there any performance advantages of going with RAID 6 instead of SHR-2? Any insight and help into this is greatly appreciated
  11. Hi guys, upgrading from my 2x MSI Geforce GTX 680 Twin Frozr III to 2x Geforce GTX 780 Ti. Just wondering what would be an acceptable price to demand for a little over one year old cards? I live in Norway, and our prices are a little higher than U.S. consumers would pay, I gave about $650 a piece for mine when they were new. In my head, and with the ridiculous price drop on hardware, I'm thinking around $250. Would that be an acceptable price for a 680?
