Othersideguy reacted to TVwazhere in Need new PC case for build
^This. Keep the gunmetal look, get every thing you want. Win Win
Then might I offer suggestions? I personally see nothing wrong with the build but would offer some minor tweaks, like if you could find the new 860 EVO for less (if not dont worry about it, speeds aernt different it's just longevity of the NAND cells) and the other was the CPU cooler, potentially if you went with the R6 you could get a 360mm rad for even better cooling of the 8700k which is quite hot (unless you plan on delidding). Again these are just suggestions

Othersideguy got a reaction from MrPants_ in GTX 980ti G1 windforce CSGO/Dota Ultra Low FPS ( HELP )
Are you running the gaming using the GPU or CPU integrated Graphics? Sometimes the integrated graphics decides to turn itself on and the PC ignores the GPU for games

Othersideguy reacted to zanthros in Gaming PC in Powermac G5 case?
If you want an off the shelf solution for the build then go to the laser hive. They have a kit you can buy for this type of build. I am working on the same thing and will be starting a build log of my own but I decided to fabricate my own components as much as possible as I was told that what I wanted you cannot do. (By the Laser hive guys.) I got it and it can be done.

Othersideguy got a reaction from piemadd in New Gaming Build
This is my build below which seems to be good for my needs if your interested: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/RKTH3F
I believe that any i5 4th - 6th gen is more than enough when paired with a decent GPU, so an i5 6500 or i5 6600 should meet your needs very well. As for future-proofing (I don't know much about future-proofing) I believe 5th or 6th gen i7 or any Zeon e5 would be more than enough to last you for gaming and programming for many years to come.
