Too lazy to draw something right now.

Basically just design it the way selfie stick is designed.
    - Strap the phone mounting to one end of steel pipe, use epoxy glue for increased strength.
= Simplest way I can think of right now to make it look like selfie stick as much as possible is to just buy a cheap selfie stick then transfer either the whole phone mount part or everything aside the extendable stick to the pipe. Or the mount system that OP linked will do fine too I surmise

    - Cover the other end of the pipe with tennis racket strap for better hand grip.

    - You'll need a remote shutter button. (don't need to buy if you re-use the shutter on the dismantled selfie stick)

    Done.

Thanks for the reply.  I guess I'm too old to figure it out for myself.  I did a google search on "selfie stick" to get an idea of what it was.  Thanks anyways.

    Take care and good luck.

Buy a phone mount, preferably a cheap one but with good grip on the phone.
    Buy a steel pipe
    Buy epoxy glue
    Buy a badminton/tennis handle strap
    Piece them all together

edit : Buy remote shutter button.

Oh yeah gaming is a total shit show, if you thought at any point bad ports and unfinished games were released well recently the AAA industry upped that to insane levels where they put out absolute garbage for $70+.

LTT wise; Linus is stepping down as CEO:

Anthony has announced they are trans and is now known as Emily:

Most of the other things I think people already mentioned. Welcome back!

My only complaints for that system would be that its the 3gb 1060, not 6gb (minorish issue) and no larger HDD/SSD (more major issue) listed. Otherwise its good imo

Your old gaming system will probably start showing some age but its still a decent 1080p machine for sure!  Happy to have you back, hope everything keeps going well for you 🙂

Ehhh well, you don't miss much I think.
    Burning GPU connector
    Burning CPU
    Nvidia still expensive
Intel still mucking around with their discrete GPU
    Apple still being apple
AI hype becoming more and more rampant

Go with the Arris modem? Honesly Modem/Router combos in my opinion are hot garbage. I can recommend the SB6183, OR you can get a 24x8 modem the CM600 its netgear and highly recommend.

Your better off buying seperate modem and router. A decent cable modem will last practicly forever. Hell my old SB6141 is likely to be upgraded when Comcast tells me they no longer want it on their network. Ive replace my router twice since buying my modem.

My generally advice for cable modems is this, for Docsis 3.0 you want a 16x4 or 24x8, Or just buy a Docsis 3.1 modem if its compatible with their network. Router wise any Wireless AC router will do. That being said TPLInk is good for budget, or look in to ASUS, Netgear or even Synology (the router I have but its expensive).

I would just go on some "less than ideal sites" and download them all to DVDs and run them off a combo VCR

Thats true. I would also look into making backups of the tapes, or streaming the movies if a VCR with a remote is N/A

Honestly, I'd just get rid of that VCR and find one with a remote. The manual for the VCR isn't worth that kind of money.

Yeah, I was trying to find a manual for it but all of them are paywalled... for some reason.

I encountered the same, I guess because it's considered a vintage/legacy electronic device. They see it in the sense of, this is something richer people with nothing better to do use & not an old lady like my mom who has nothing but VHS tapes lol.

and as long as your monitor uses this plug:

you can use whichever power cable you want that's not a knockoff "fake".
