  1. I confused 200 F with 200 C lol. Regardless, drew people in, accidental click bait
  2. AIDA64 is about the same as AMD OD so I guess I'll go with the lower temp
  3. I have had an A8 5500 APU for about six years. HWMonitor always says it runs hot, 60s and 70s are average readings. Today, I began using it to crunch some BOINC projects. HW was telling me it was hitting well into the 90s after an hour of crunching, it was hot enough to melt silicon, basically. I thought that was insane so I installed AMD Overdrive. In the CPU status, it gives me readings in the 20s-30s (I know that's how many degrees before it hits it's max but the temp reading was roughly the same) while crunching, the thing that caused HW to say it was in the 90s. What gives? Am I alright? That's all in Celsius btw. What are the safe operation temps? Am I within them?
  4. No. My PC is set so it doesnt sleep, same with monitor.
  5. So, this happened before. I've had the UPS for a month or two and it was working fine. Today, I came home and my PC and monitor were both off. I checked and saw that the UPS' light was on and it was not beeping, indicating that it was okay, it was not overloaded (long, continuous beep). I pulled the plug on it and plugged it back in. It now works fine again. What happened???
  6. It's a joke and it isn't even about human races. Consoles and computers aren't real races. People of all races can join the PCMR.
  7. So, sometimes icons on my desktop will get highlighted with little boxes like the ones you can make by left clicking and dragging. Also, my task bar blinks whenever I close a program. My cursor also sometimes clicks constantly randomly and I have to restart to fix it (this happens like once every other month). Could these be connected in any way? Any idea how to fix it?
  8. This is cheaper and easier though, not to mention better for the environment.
  9. Okay, I know that that sounds like a horrible idea. However, I heard about it on Carey Holzman's YouTube channel last night and tried it on a 13 year old junk PC in my basement and it worked great. He also has this video showing how it's done: Is this safe/a good idea?
  10. It does not. It's old and I refuse to upgrade out of fear of losing data.
  11. I have an A8 and it sucks, it's super weak. Is there anything better that can actually run modern games at a decent FPS without being in the lowest settings or should I upgrade my mobo entirely.
  12. So, I got a used PS4 with a controller. It's in rough shape and was clearly heavily used. Anyways, the left trigger has it's own mind sometimes as does one of the analog sticks. Also, it often only works on the PS4's menu but not in games, I have to reset it to fix it. Can it be fixed? Possible software issue? Time for a new controller?
  13. Or will the new one overwrite the old one as well as the old incremental backups? I don't want two fulls. I use EaseUS Todo Backup.
