It shows up in my Device manager but not in "This PC" or My PC. I click on it and it says the drive is working properly. Does that mean anything?

Hey all So my external hard drive stopped working and is making a ticking sound. Windows makes a sound when it plugs in but then it doesnt read. IS my drive done for? When it revs up, it does the beep/tick sound, and then just dies back down.

Yeah I have a vista PC and a windows 7 one. They were both "high end" in terms of specs at the time. I didnt know about building a custom PC so I did Dell's "build a laptop" thing on their website to play games on high. So perhaps just become web browser pc for my family.

Hey all So I have some laptops that are pretty aged right now One being ~9 y/o and the other being about 5 y/o. I know I know they're old in the tech world but if I reformat them, can they become useful again? Obviously not gaming because I dont think they will be able to handle it. Honestly behavior like this shouldnt be supported just because you are not affected directly or the specific youtube page you like is affected. Suppose you buy a game on PC and its an absolute shit port. but the ps4 version is completely fine and runs smoothly. Ps4 user says "As long as they don't screw the PS4 version up, they can do whatever they want with xbox/PC versions quite frankly"

The $80k one was run by Dbrand and working with Unbox and MQhd. Majority run by Dbrand just being helped by the other two. Prize given to a fiance of a person who partners and worked with Dbrand.

I understand Dbrand is a big sponsor of LTT and was just wondering what you guys thought. Again I am not here to flame Dbrand. Its just something interesting to see come to light.

Currently looking at replacements... Any experience with Sennheiser HD598's, Sony MDR-1A, or Audio Technica ATH-MSR-7's?

I mean back home I've dropped them plenty but nothing really happened. maybe something got loosened. Using them with the Vive and sometimes having them get tangled up made them fall. They literally just sat there. No one touched them. cord wasnt wound up too tight or anything. Just a major damper and e-mailed Audio technica if anything is covered.

As the title states. I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD700x open back headphones and they just stopped working properly. I brought these with me to Japan in June and they sat on my desk for 2 months as I didnt really have a need to use them. fast forward to today and I put them on to skype with my gf and whelp only the right ear is working. i try it with my PS Vita and phone and its all the same result. Is this a common thing for headphones to all of a sudden occur? I did not spill water or anything on it.

I was thinking of the Ncase reservoir that mounts on the exterior. But would I see poor performance if I use a slam radiator? I do have some high TDP parts like a 4790k and a Fury X

Hey all So I am looking to get a nice pair of Closed ear headphones as I have a pair of ATH-700x as open ears. These prices will be in JAPANESE YEN as I am currently residing in Japan. I am looking to use these as a travel but also for majority gaming. I tried out the MSR7's and they were pretty comfortable and good sounds. Games I play are a variety. (Shooters, WoT, open world games) and I also need a good pair of headphones for VR use. For Music I listen to rock/metal so imnot sure if they are the best The MSR7's are about $220 (22,000 Yen) and I was wondering if there were other equivalent good headphones at this price range.

Says on Ncase's website that it is difficult to work with but 303mm is available. 290mm is recommended. Predator 240 is 295mm. I fit 240mm EK XT rad and a 140mm slip rad in a bitfenix prodigy. oh so very cramped in there.

Will it be able to support the extended length on the predator radiator since it needs to have a reservoir? Edit: It says recommended length is 290mm. Predator 240 is 295 mm apparently case lips makes it difficult if its longer than 290

Hey LTT community. I grabbed a Fury X for small PCB and a waterblock since the blocks were on sale. Looking to downsize my rig from the Bitfenix prodigy. Just wondering if anyone knew of any cases that were smaller than that. or is that the smallest I'll get with a 240mm rad Edit: Fixed misspelling in title.

480 is a side grade to an r9 290 than an upgrade. thats why I didnt put it in the OP. just higher end cards from both sides.

im not looking to run 144hz or anything. its just freesync up to 75 hz. i dont think thats that demanding
