Yeah so this is my personal build that I did over a year ago now and i have been meaning to post it. It's admittedly not perfect and I have done 3 more builds since and (and improved with each) but none the less here it is: Dreadnought.
p.s. I tried to find all the exact parts but couldn't find the exact AOC monitor.

MandalorePlayz reacted to Klemmbrett in Instable Overclock
Do small increments in performance and test them. Also i would never use a program like that for OC. I laughed the hell out when i tried one of these which recommended to oc my i5 6600k to 3605 mhz at freaking 1,45 volts. LMAO it runs @4,4 ghz 1,25 volts stable so the program put a way to much voltage for a little oc wonder what it does when you go 22%. Go into you bios and do the oc by yourself but dont just put a slider to 22% and expect magic to happen. 22% would be 4636 mhz not sure if you will achieve a stable oc at that clock at all.

In most cases, it's likely going to be fine if you immediately put the water block back on. The question is do you want to risk it? You have a nice CPU and water cooler, and a stick of a high quality thermal paste like Arctic Silver 5 only costs about $5 and will last many applications. I would recommend reapplying, just in case.

If you can, get coffee lake. Should be out in a few weeks.
The 212 Evo isn't great for a 7700K. Due to the toothpaste Intel uses, you won't overclock too much.
The SL308 costs $20 less than the 850 Evo, and is pretty much as good.
The PSU is terrible for $110. You can get better units with a $1000 budget

New Intel processors are coming. The i3 will be a very enticing option. Black Friday is coming. You'll get a much, much better system for your dollars. -

LOL "i5's are dead" yup that is why it is still one of the most highly recommended cpu's for gaming by experts and it is statistically the second most purchased chip well above Ryzen. No stick with an i5 unless you like amd in which case buy a Ryzen both are good chips but a prefer intel because most games are more optimized for it cause they had like 90% market share for 6 years.
