Hi All, So the title pretty much says it all I had a hard drive copy itself to a different hard drive somehow. I have no idea how this happened but I was messing around in my file system during this though. For reference these were both internal HDDs and neither was my C drive. I was wondering if there was a way to get my data on the one drive back that anyone knew of?

I have built one but I still consider myself very noob. I am upgrading my system from a Ryzen 1700x, and a GTX 1070. I would like a motherboard that supports a Thunderbolt 3/4 add in card so that way I can use my docking station that came from work to hook up both my PC and my work laptop. I also have 2 4k monitors that I run that are 144Hz that I game on and a 1080p TV that I use as a third monitor. I'm going for a black and white build with hints of blue in there too so trying to follow that theme. Hey Everyone, I am looking for a CPU and Motherboard combo that will support a thunderbolt 3 docking station but still let me do all of my work (photo editing, compiling code, and gaming) pretty well. I am pretty new to the PC building scene and have been running all of my stuff off of my laptop. Overall I have about $700 to spend on this portion of the PC so any help would be nice.

Yeah no I completely understand that the desktop would have to pull the video and I know it would have no problem doing that but youre completely right they are KMs not KVMs they dont share video.

Yeah there are no software KVMs that will let me share my monitors whatsoever between my two machines. I would need to assign specific monitors to specific computers which would not help at all. I would need to buy two docking stations and still run a virtual kvm to share keyboard and mouse. Or I would have to just plug my laptop in directly into the monitors anyway which doesnt really help either as it also complicates the setup.

Assuming I did do a different motherboard do you have any recommendations. As for software KVM I havent been able to find any that support switching displays too.

None of their products have support for 3 displays like I need.

I'd honestly be comfortable spending up to like $300 but I want a working solution

Ideally just one dock to control the whole set up.

Hey All, I am looking for a docking station that will let me connect both my laptop and PC to all of my stuff. I have a new laptop from work that has both thunderbolt 3 and hdmi connectivity and then my personal machine is a Ryzen 1700x on an Asus B350 motherboard and a 1070. I am looking for a way to connect both of them to 2 monitors via display port, a TV via HDMI, and then my mouse, and keyboard via usb. Im hoping for more than 3 USB ports and an ethernet jack on it too. Anybody have any idea of how to do this?

Hey guys, So I'm having some problems with my MX Master (1st gen) stuttering and lagging when I'm trying to use it on my desktop. It will stutter for a brief period and then go back to being normal. It is getting really annoying and im wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to fix this. I built my PC myself and it has a bluetooth card in it so that shouldn't be the problem. Thanks
