  1. Hi there. I ' ve been using ASUS DUAL GTX1070 OC version for a almost a year now. While the some apps and some tabs on chrome open, drivers just crashed and screen went black with no signal text, fans did speed up to %100. I did force shut down the PC by the power button. Restarted the PC and Windows notification said "Display driver failed to start; using Microsoft Basic Display Driver Instead".I updated my drivers from the Geforce Experience and after a match of PUBG all seems ok. I did make sure the card and the power cables was in place. My question is that should i be worried ? I have 1 years of warranty left, let me know if i should RMA the card. BTW i've been using Corsair RMx 750w PSU for a 5 months. Rest of the hardware has not been changed in 2 years.
  2. Well i've bought the drive 2 hours ago. Currently busy with creating the partitions from disk manager. EDIT: Seek error rate keeps going up. + the F0 and F1
  3. Hi. Today i bough a Seagate Barracuda 2TB st2000dm006 and currently doing formatting for partitions. While doing that i thought i should check the smart data from crystaldiskinfo and encountered this idiotic result. Is this just a firmware problem or sign of faulty hard drive/ sata cable. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the info. I can handle the building stuff(i think at least) but i read in a Reddit post that the NAS drives are only useful when you actually need a drive for 7/24 use. It wont be online all the time. Then here is the plan, have the copies of the files in my current pc's drive which are 1WD Blue, a 1 old Samsung 1TB (i dont even use this anymore beside copying the photos just incase) HD103SJ and soon to be another WD Blue drive(i need space). After that copy the photos to my external drive(which is a old but not that harshly used WD 1TB) and my parents external drive(which will be the off-site backup). At last, build a NAS which i will buy a 120G SSD for OS and a single hard drive at first then another drive will follow it to a RAID 1(or no raid, manually copying to 2 drives). And one more last question, is there any way to add more sata slots to motherboard ? I might run out on that old MB after 4 drives.
  5. With the luck of mine, lol . Thanks for the tips.
  6. Any chance that both drives can fry up at the same time ? I am afraid the setup will include some old hardware. Well with the external drives i will have the chance to put them into a safe or secure place, but wont have the accessibility of a NAS.
  7. Oops... The NAS will work locally though and even then it won't be running 7/24. Cool thanks.
  8. So you are saying go for dual external drive setup ? Thanks.
  9. Dude that is basically the whole reason that i asked this question. NAS or external drive...
  10. Well, i will use these thing occasionally. From time to time just to take a look or add some more photos. Thats all
  11. Hi there. I recently tried to access a photo that i needed and i realized that those things were unprotected all the time and spread across all 3 drives of mine(2 internal, 1 external). So i thought i should back it up immediately(only the photos) I was about to buy a external hard drive but i thought it still wont be secure . (A single drive protecting all the photos that i have from the digital age ? Hell no...) So searched about plug-n-go NAS cases but i thought, hey why should i spend some money on that thing while i have a old case lying around at my house(with x3 Athlon cpu and stuff) With all that stuff away now here i ask the question. Should i just buy 2 external 1TB drives just for the photos (same files on them, different places) or build a Windows Server on that old boy. Because this is only for the photos, server or the drives wont be running all the time so keep in mind that the offline time(if it damages the drives). Open for suggestions guys. Thanks!
  12. Well i will try ro fix the problem with old crt tv hits later today lol. As long as it does not hurt the graphics card its fine for me to open late. Well thanks for your reply mate. I tried connection via hdmi(i use vga to hdmi convertor for the monitor ) and works like a charm.
  13. Hi there . I am using ASUS VH192 for almost 7 or 8 years as my second screen. Now almost for a month it is struggling to open. I changed the VGA and Power cable but still does its thing where the power led(which is blue when turned on and has signal, otherwise orange or off) keeps blinking on and off for a good couple off minutes(normally it doesn't) and then ASUS symbol pops and vanishes(this goes for around 2 to 3 minutes aswell) and then the screen comes alive. While this is going on the graphics card goes mad aswell. Graphics card thoughts(or detects ?) there is no other screen and turns the main screen off(Samsung S24F350) and moves the icons from second screen to main one. After a few second while the second screen boot loops goes back to normal 2 screen setup. All of these takes around 5 minutes and i am scared that the screen will hurt the graphics card(ASUS GTX 1070). What do you think is the cause guys ? Or is it fixable. And btw it only does this when opening from cold start(this means it has not been on for maybe 2-3 hours min.). Thanks again and if its needed i can provide a video.
  14. Well, then i should just keep using PSU and hope that it is not faulty. Thanks.
