Enderman got a reaction from RevGAM in Why aren't AIO gpu coolers more common?
GPUs already come with a cooler mounted so its only enthusiasts that are willing to void warranties to modify their card and put a liquid cooler on it.

Some GPUs come with an AIO preinstalled but that makes them more expensive, and for most cards an AIO is unnecessary because they don't overheat on air.

Yes PWM fans can run fine on non-PWM headers, you just have to control them by DC instead of PWM.
And there is no need to follow the thread, you can use the quote button to reply to people and they will get a notification.

Why would you use a capture card when you can record directly from the output using shadowplay?

The fps he gets in game will remain the same regardless of what cable he uses.
The fps he sees on screen (aka Hz) is what will change.

PWM is very different from DC control
people who care about silence care about PWM

only 4 pin headers are PWM

Personally all my stuff is laptops so all I/O is front I/O but I couldn't stand not being able to plug in stuff like my phone or USB drives.

There's always simple workarounds though, I would just end up getting a dock/hub of some kind and mounting it to the desk.

I already do thanks to me using a sleeper case because I don't care for new cases that have RGBs, but too poor to afford those fancy airflow cases.

The questions don't encapsulate enough of the options or scenarios. It's a very situation-specific topic. Some setups have an easily accessible case that allows no issues in accessing rear I/O, while others have the opposite, and need front I/O on their case to be useful. There are also people that use cloud services to avoid the majority of cases they might need front I/O.

Personally, I have a Node 202, and in my previous setup, I didn't have a USB hub or wireless headset. This made the front I/O useful for USB drives, and my headset. Currently, I now have a wireless headset, and I'm using a USB hub from the back of the Node 202 to a riser I have on the desk.

In a perfect scenario of a custom office setup, any case I use, I'll likely be using extensions and building them into the desk/setup, but likely with a hidden option. I'm someone that likes having options and dislike setups where I'm constantly band-aiding or making things messy.

I don't use my Front I/O as much anymore since I've moved a few things to the back of the motherboard, but front I/O is still very, very important, imo. But let's talk about that case in the OP. Was that custom made or what? That bitch spicy.

So I just found out that there is a beta driver for Focusrite Scarlett interfaces that allows you use to all the inputs and outputs from windows

Just what you and I were looking for.

Just fyi though, the outputs on most scarlett interfaces are balanced TRS, not just simple rca.

    Let's phrase it this way:

I need it, but would not need it if my components worked as they should.

What do I mean with that?
For example, I have a Wifi Dongle and Headset plugged in on the top IO of my case. I could very well plug them in in the back, if my system would not have some inconvenient flaws. One of which being, I need to reconnect my Wifi Dongle every time my PC resumes from Sleep (I rarely turn my PC off) so having it in my front IO makes it bearable.
My headset sometimes loses power and shuts off, requiring to be reconnected to start working again.

In my personal usecase, if my PC did not have those flaws, I could certainly live without front IO. Even with those flaws I could live without front IO, it's just more convenient.

This is a tricky question for me personally
My case is placed a bit far from my "workstation", so I use a hub and an extension cable hooked to a USB 3 Gen 2 port at the back of the mobo
But for all intents and purposes, this is my front IO
Just that since I'm not using the actual front IO, I guess I don't need it, even though I need the functionality
    I'm very confused now

the front io can be hidden by placing a door like plank which matches with the rest of the material, and in my opinion if you do that it'd be better to place them vertically on one of the sides

Used to use my front IO. Got a new case, taller, squeezes in under my desk. Front IO is on top. Useless.

this is a custom case right, so you can put the io wherever you want, you could just hide it at the back with the built in io

I could live without front IO on my desktops. 95% of my usage at home is on Macs with no front IO anyway, at work everything is through a Thunderbolt dock.

I use USB-A about once a month for flash media. 3.5mm *maybe* once every 4 months for testing something, usually for no more than about 10 seconds... I've literally never used USB-C for anything ever apart from device charging - and thats just with standalone chargers, never involved a desktop.

If breaking the Front I/O and having it be unsightly is a concern, I'm again baffled why no MFG's are offering 1st party, multipurpose dongles with USB-C, 3.5mm jack, etc--as a purchase option when you buy the case.
