  1. No, a lot less. It's not being encoded into a compressed video stream, it's just outputting it on a separate display.
  2. Took about two years of planning because I was pretty busy with school or work. I don't have any renders, those are all real pictures taken with a camera haha
  3. It's only a 25W CPU so the big vent at the back is enough to keep it below 85C I have a 60mm noctua fan that I might add though, to make temps even lower.
  4. Something I've been working on for a while... though I'd show it off Let me know your thoughts!
  5. But yes I think OBS can do it, it has the ability to capture just a window, and you can set it to display the OBS output on a display/output port of your choice.
  6. Is there a reason you can't just fullscreen the application on a monitor and then duplicate displays?
  7. Mint Also if you do a full clean install of windows it will probably run perfectly fine. It's probably just an old and slow installation.
  8. Is it a router or a modem? Usually changing it won't change any of your speeds. If you want more speed you have to pay for a better internet plan.
  9. Yes they need different polarization for each eye. Otherwise you would just see the same image twice. https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/3d-tvs-active-3d-vs-passive-3d Since your eyes don't have a polarizing filter (unless you use polarized glasses) you can see 2d content without any change because the polarization doesn't matter to your eye. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarizing_filter_(photography)
  10. Just get a cheap used 2TB sata SSD, they're not much more expensive than a hard drive. No hard drive will be quiet, even the silent WD ones I had a while ago were still audible.
  11. Is it an abrasive solution? Inside of your block and res look a bit scratched up...
  12. Probably air in the loop. You can try mounting your radiator in a different orientation, that sometimes helps trap the bubble in one place. If it's going through your pump it makes those noises.
  13. IO shield looks fine. They often don't line up perfectly, especially the cheap ones. Unless you're having problems with plugging stuff in just leave it. From the picture it seems like everything can still plug in just fine.
  14. When I had a PC die I brought it to a shop and they tested the parts for me, turned out it was a dead CPU and dead mobo. You really have to test each component individually to narrow it down. If you don't have the parts/second PC, then your only option is a shop or a friend.
  15. Nope. Behringer Nekkst K8s. I don't think I've ever seen an unpowered studio monitor, they're pretty much all active. As far as I can tell, the ground loop EMI noise that happens is because of the grounding. Certain audio devices called a ground lift are made specifically to break this loop. This isn't a great solution though because grounding exists for a reason. I recommended the scarlett solo because it's an affordable entry level interface with excellent quality and specs. Behringer also has some good ones for cheaper, but not at the same quality level. Usually if you just look for a standalone DAC you end up with either 1) something that has unbalanced outputs 2) some cheap chinese DAC 3) some very expensive audiophile DAC A USB soundcard will not have balanced audio output, which is not going to remove the noise, since the USB sound card itself needs USB power.
  16. I've used studio monitors before and every time they are plugged into an analog output on a computer there is noise, even if they are properly grounded, on the same circuit, on different circuits, etc. You need a proper audio interface with balanced outputs. It's very possible the EMI is caused by a grounding issue, which is easy to test by plugging a phone or laptop into the 3.5mm jack while not being connected to an outlet. The problem is that a PC always needs to be connected to an outlet, so you can't get rid of the EMI. PS- the manual also recommend using balanced inputs specifically to solve this issue.
  17. Motherboard audio sucks and has tons of EMI. Get an audio interface like a scarlett solo with balanced TRS outputs and you will have no noise.
  18. You can keep windows.old if you plan to revert the upgrade, but in general no, you don't need it and can delete it. All programs need to be reinstalled.
  19. Yes, you can even overclock if you want. CPUs and GPUs are a lot more efficient than they were 10 years ago.
  20. I would be concerned about the viscosity and surface tension making the metal difficult to flow through the microfins in those CPU blocks though.
  21. Glad to see someone actually trying this out, it is a widely discussed idea from a long time ago. I don't think it will work great, since the high conductivity is made almost irrelevant due to the fact that the heat is being moved by the physical movement of fluid by the pump, rather than thermal conduction through a solid, but it will still be a cool test
  22. Just put it in and use it as your main OS drive, it will speed up almost everything.
