  1. Hey gang, I'm hoping you all can translate this BSoD error for me. I get a rotation of codes every time I turn on my computer. Its a fresh install of windows 11. Reinstalled a couple times now and still getting this error. 8700K, GTX 1070, Z370-E Strix Gaming, 16Gb ram. Issue didn't occur before upgrading to Windows 11. The bugcheck says the "exception record address" should point to the troublesome driver but I do not know how to go about tracking down that driver. DMP File: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AshBdghCBhkSqFnVIdfDEjHssNVV?e=HopDiE SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (7e) This is a very common BugCheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address. Arguments: Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled Arg2: fffff80742e833a7, The address that the exception occurred at Arg3: fffffb00aec16e38, Exception Record Address Arg4: fffffb00aec16650, Context Record Address 0xC0000005 STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION The instruction at 0x%08lx referenced memory at 0x%08lx. 2. Update: Fresh installed windows again onto 1 drive. Still got a BSOD when booting up today. Memory check came back with no errors. Any more suggestions? Event viewer bugcheck code: The bugcheck was: 0x0000004e (0x0000000000000002, 0x000000000036bb6f, 0x0000000000436fff, 0x0000000000000001). Report Id: 1060784d-df8d-46a0-a1a3-66cead47d8b7. Link to dump file https://1drv.ms/u/s!AshBdghCBhkSqFjkDOa22riG_3X5?e=1fCdyo Code seems to translate to "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT" I didn't catch a picture of the BSOD cause I used the QR code thinking it would open a MS page for the error. Just dropped me off at a general support page . Do the parameters above point to a driver or something?
  3. I'm backing up the old windows install and wiping that drive to see if that will help
  4. I just got windows debug installed. Looks like the dmp thinks I was using W10? Could the new install be using the old drive's page partition?
  5. I haven't touched my RAM in years. But the bluescreens started immediately after upgrading to windows 11. I'll run a test after my call is done. (likely an hour. Love meetings)
  6. Right. Dumps. Here it is? It goes to blue screen with different code each time then restarts 021822-11531-01.dmp
  7. Were the wires chewed on the inside of the case? Or was that the cable to the wall?
  8. What hardware are you running? Are you getting good performance or is it running slow? If you have a lot of CPU cores, GTA might be maxing out just one making it look like on average the CPU is not working hard. Also make sure you have your monitor plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard.
  9. Upgraded to a larger 2TB m.2 SSD and installed windows 11 on the drive. When booting I now get a windows screen before login that asks me to pick an install. Volume 11 or 13. I pick 13 and it boots into the new windows. I haven't tried volume 11 yet. I also noticed that the 2TB does not have a recovery partition or the EFI partition. PC crashed at 8:15 this morning and created 75 events in one minute. I had this crashing issue after upgrading the old SSD from w10 to w11. Each crash has a different BSOD code. The old drive is still plugged in so I can access some of the files I haven't migrated over yet. I'm not well versed in the event viewer so I was hoping someone here could suggest which event could be pointing to the culprit and we could dig further into the issue. I get these crashes every time I turn on the computer. Usually in the first minute or 2 but sometimes up to 20 minutes in (as in today while on a work call). 10. Noticed games get my CPU running pretty hot lately (up to 89C). I've been using Asus z370-e mobo which has the "one-click 5ghz OC". I expected since it only changes multipliers without changing voltage a larger AIO (kraken x52) I should be safe to run at these temps. I removed the OC and just left multicore enhancement (up to 4.3Ghz) on to see if maybe I'm just pushing my cpu too hard. After running a stress test I got right back up to 88C. I was wondering if anyone else has a similar setup and what temps they typically get. CPU install is only a few months old but maybe I will try redoing the thermal paste. I'm not brave enough to do any delidding so please don't suggest that.
  11. I'm looking for an alternative to the Siberia 800 (expensive) headset/DACish combo. My friend has his set up so one input from the xbox and one from the PC. He can mix the two there as well as send his mic to the PC and plug his headset int o the controller for chat on Xbox. Things I need: #1- receive audio from PC #2- send mic to PC for Teamspeak and such things #3- receive audio from XBox one #4- send mic to Xbox for Chat #5- Wireless to PC at least. I can handle having the headset plugged into the controller for audio. I know the hyperX cloud flight is new but i wonder if it can receive both the wireless USB and the line in from a controller at the same time, or if it will just switch between when you plug in the controller. Its a better price and still wireless.
  12. also doesn't include the price of GPU because not availible. thats why its in budget
  13. Friend wants to build a purely gaming rig. Budget is about $2000 but wants to leave some room for a monitor. -Intel build ( just gaming, no streaming or productive things so don't need the cores) -doesn't want to overclock (I feel thats kinda short sighted but maybe I'm wrong) -nvidea gpu -rgb is appreciated -no mass storage just SSD (500+ preferred) -likes simple cases (I recommend something with air filters) -wants quiet build -gaming at 1080 maybe 1440 down the road depending on monitor -peripherals will be budgeted separately -> my list: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/wWGL3F I have an affinity to the H440. Not really sure about motherboards but Wifi and USB 3.0 front header would be nice. I'm having trouble finding out if boards have these or not. Take a look. Give me your opinions!
  14. So i was thinking of overclocking my 8350. mobo is pretty basic so I probably won't. BUT when was looking at CAM i realized my CPU is apparently cooler than my coolers liquid. Not like a degree or two but TEN, almost consistently. I'm no engineer but I think there is something wrong here. Am I overthinking this or is something giving me the wrong reading.
