At first I thought "a cloud connected keyboard? that's super dumb" but seeing what it actually does, it seems like it would be SUPER helpful for me. This would solve a lot of problems I have with keeping track of things. None of the productivity apps work for me because i just don't think to ever check them, or I just turn them off when the alarm sounds (yeah, I know...I'll get to in a minute...and then I forget)...but with this being in my face, my R key glowing red, showing me I need to get to work, I don't think I'd be able to ignore it for long. I only wish I had it 15 years ago. Honestly this might be the first time I use kickstarter...and I feel comfortable doing it with Das Keyboard because they're already a successful keyboard maker.

I needed a new keyboard too.

It is not dead yet, but it shows that one sector is bad but not yet reallocated. You should run a wipe program from your HDD manufacturer to reallocate that bad sector, after that you will see that bad sector will move to parameter 05 Reallocated Sector Count. If the parameter is not increasing rapidly after you use it, sometimes you can still use that drive for a quite long time, but make sure to backup your data to a healthier HDD. I've seen some HDD with some reallocated sectors still works after months or years until it increase to a couple hundred and unusable anymore because it is so slow and corrupted their files.

"Cloud Connected" is not the best description, the RGB LED is programmable using IFTTT or Zapier service or some events on the internet which they means with "cloud".

In the FAQ they said that users can purchase a blank transparent keycaps. I understand why some people have a concern about privacy because you need to enter so much information to their app like your login/password for your email, cloud storage, etc.

I guess Daemon Tools Lite is the more popular one. I've used it a couple times and it's quite simple, just be careful with all the crap the free version tries to install in your computer.

If car at door 1, and you choose :
    - door 1, door 2 or 3 opened, not switch = win, switch = lose
    - door 2, door 3 opened, not switch = lose, switch = win
    - door 3, door 2 opened, not switch = lose, switch = win

It is better to switch every time, because your probability to win is 2/3

    1. Make sure LAN IP/DNS set to auto

    On desktop :
    1. Make sure LAN IP/DNS set to auto, run ipconfig /renew to get a new IP address
    2. It should work!

You should initialize the drive with GPT, MBR would not allow partition larger than 2TiB, if you want to divide the hdd into many partition smaller than 2TiB it's fine to use MBR.

Any data recovery service can help you but it will cost you a lot, if you want to try for yourself find another hdd with same model, capacity, and firmware then swap the board. For some HDD it won't always work and could damage the data inside so be careful. I have an experience with some model of WD hdd and it won't detect even if you swap with similar board.

you know, i have been living with 2.8Mbps (350Kb/s) my entire life, and i have to say, my connection is good enough to watch you tube 720p, or download a gigabyte of whatever in about an hour, so i can see their reason for saying that 4Mbps is enough, but for heavy internet users that are use to 50Mbps, i'm sure that will be infuriating.

i'm guessing internet is connection is like switching form a HDD to a SSD, once you have a good one, going back just feels stupid...

I'm not just talking about the aesthetic of color and shape, I'm talking about the cramming those stupid menu elements (the large news, store, mail etc) into a start menu first of all, cause I always go to my computer specs, access my control panel and administrative controls from the side they've replaced and I like them there cause they've been there for years.. (the right screen fly-out was the stupidest thing ever). the icons (specifically the windows folder) have changed and it fits the style they're changing to.. so that seems like it might be a near sure design and it looks terrible . the addition of a notifications button too... bothers me cause I already hate that they put a bunch of stuff in the bottom right (although, in windows 8 they added the ability to hide most of these so that's a HUGE plus.. hopefully this will be another optional thing and not forced). The what looks to be search and window.. transition?? buttons in the bottom left better be optional.. if it has anything to do with the 16th image ( http://pics.computerbase.de/6/0/0/7/8/20_m.png ) I don't like that feature at all, it looks identical to Apple's virtual desktops.. and I preffer just having multiple screens that i can turn my eyes to see, not push buttons to flip back and forth (again, probably optional, but completely not innovative on Microsoft's part.. )

Most of these things don't seem very temporary.. It's very much in the works, granted they may flesh out a few things, give them a bit of paint and a buff.. but I'm just old fashioned in liking things how they were, xp was great, windows 7 didn't throw you too far off a cliff with a learning curve or much change and now they're shoving it all down your throat.. Windows most iconic feature IS it's start button.. and now they've tried to completely change it, that upsets me if I can have the benefits of more efficient programming in windows 8.1 .. with my windows 7 start button (I don't care if they change the style a little bit but don't take it's functionality and DON'T replace it with large ugly square colored buttons .. )

If you just use it for storage, consider using unRAID OS. You can throw any drive with any capacity, flexible to upgrade, don't need any hardware RAID card. Easy to recover when something wrong happened like damaged array or more than 1 drive failure.
