Yassassin reacted to SorryBella in Cooling pad for Legion Y540 (i7-9750H and RTX 2060)
Then you can easily chuck it to high ambient temperatures, thats a 15 degree delta between the 2. There's no fix to that beyond actually exhaust heat away from your room or throw more cold air from the outside instead of recycled warm air. Cooling pad doesnt really help when the room is already hot in the first place from my experience.

Look into the Lenovo Y540, It should be on sale or on a bigger sale by then. Hopefully you might get one well under your budget. Lenovo is big on sales, so well see.

Look at the Mag-15. Thin, light, powerful, very very large and good 94WHR battery and many choices in terms of GPU so go nuts. keep an eye on it if it goes on sale. its powerful and extremely portable. in short: perfect. Dave2D did a video called "The impossible gaming machine" so google it.

Look at the acer predator Triton 500. similar to Mag-15. Dave2D also did a review on it.

These are personally the laptops i would keep an eye out for as they very nice. Again, keep an eye on em on when the sales come around, if they are on sale by then that is. that being said the odds of the Y540 being on sale or on a more extreme discount is basically guaranteed.

When i say "on a more extreme discount", Lenovo likes to put their laptops on sale rather frequently so hundreds of dollars off. Its kinda weird as to how often they are on sale. so hopefully, by black Friday they will be on a larger discount then their normal "on sale" price.

If you didn't by it already, don't waste your money with Arctic Cleaning Kit , it's basically limonene and soy bean oil (for the articlean 1) and water, ethanol and propanol, the last two being  light solvents .. for the articlean 2 ...

You can clean the thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol, sanitary alcohol , acetone, vodka (because it has a high amount of alcohol). Just put a few drops on a soft paper towel or cotton swabs and you're done. LCD cleaning solutions also work, because they're mostly isopropyl alcohol (around 70%) and the rest is water and rarely they add some light perfume. You get the same results as using that kit.
Careful when whiping the surfaces so you won't accidentally break off tiny surface mounted components like capacitors or resistors, around the actual gpu die.

You can remove paste even with any other light solvents as long as you clean the surface afterwards (for example gasoline, lighter fluid, WD40) .. just make sure any solvent is cleaned off the surface.

Unless you go for a really expensive paste, the difference between pastes are of 1-2 degrees celsius. MX-4 is already quite good enough, no need to stress about it.

i generally use the pea method, but a bit bigger. If the die is kinda rectangular, maybe put two blobs ... don't stress too much about how much you put, in real world it kind of makes little difference if you put too much or just right, but it can be bad if you put too little. I'd suggest not spreading it manually, but even if you do, it won't be the end of the world.

I mean, the difference will pretty much be 1 degree in which thermal paste you get (as long as it is from one of the main brands) and how you apply it. The simple pea dot method works great, and as for cleaning, just some Isopropyl alcohol and toilet paper

More than likely the cable for it has become loose and is causing the problem. They can detach partially causing this. or it could be a break in the cable at the fold point. I would do the 10 dollar cable first to make sure before looking for a new panel.

You may need to change the whole display panel.
The price depends on the model of the panel but it should be less than 10k INR
If you have the warranty then it'll help.

Yassassin reacted to Classified101 in Need CPU, Mobo and Ram suggestion for 550$ (~35,000)
If you are specifically gonna buy computer parts, then I would suggest you the following sites
    1) The IT Depot. This store will be your best bet. They have their store in Chennai. They have an online store as well. Although I would recommend you to physically go to the store, so that you can do a little bit of bargaining. But if you can't go to the shop, then just order online. They will offer free shipping in Tamil Nadu.
    2) Prime ABGB
    3) MD Computers

Try to buy from The IT Depot. It is the nearest store for you.
I wouldn't recommend buying computer parts from Amazon or Flipkart, because, first of all, their prices are high, and number two, they have a very limited availability of products.

MD computers and The IT Depot are the leading computer parts store in India.

And yes, prices do differ from state to state. Although MD computers have the cheapest price when compared to the other two places, if you buy from there, they will charge you for shipping because that store is situated in Kolkata.

Y'all are bae. That's why we've partnered up with Razer to give away one NEW Razer Blade 14, and one NEW Razer Blade Stealth (full specs listed in the announcement video), with a custom graphic designed by our very own Edzel Yago  .

    2. Winners will have 72 hours to respond. If a winner does not respond within that time, a new winner will be drawn.

    3. This is a worldwide giveaway with no age restrictions. Shipping costs will be covered by the shipper, but any duties/taxes/other fees upon delivery will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

Alright, now that we've got that out of the way, OMG THIS IS AWESOME HOW DO I WIN ONE???:

    1. Comment below letting us know which Razer laptop you would prefer to win. Feel free to make it fun - what would you use it for? Why do you prefer the Blade or the Blade Stealth?

    2. This is not a REQUIREMENT for entry, but you should definitely follow Razer on Twitter and subscribe to their YouTube page. In addition to providing the laptops for this awesome giveaway AND sponsoring our trip to PAX, they work with a plethora of other incredible creators in a number of spaces, and release cool content with some of them on a fairly regular basis. Please support them on social media and Tweet at them thanking them for this giveaway!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ENTERING, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT ON THIS CRAZY JOURNEY

    EDIT:

Alright, we have selected our winners!!!

@Plavi and @willp3, you have 72 hours to respond to the DMs I am sending you right now. If we do not receive a reply in that time, new winners will be chosen! Since both said that the Blade would be their choice, it's on a "first replied first served" basis. (for clarity - what this means is that the first winner to reply will get their choice between the two laptops, and the second winner to reply will get the laptop that the first winner did not choose. This does not mean that we're only giving away one laptop...)

    Thanks everyone.

    EDIT2:

Alright, so @Plavi has officially claimed the New Blade! Congrats on winning

But, unfortunately for @willp3, he did not respond in time to claim his prize...

Honestly, it is very similar to the build suggested by @HKZeroFive. Different case and a different Mobo. I would also second his comment about the SSD. Makes a lot of difference in the general speediness of the PC.
Just go with any case that you like that fits within your budget and offers good airflow. I have the MasterCase 5 Pro, and while it is nice and has good airflow, it is quite large and heavy, if those are of any consideration to you.

You do realise that 'Newegg India' doesn't exist? What you're looking at there is simply Newegg directly converting their prices to INR. They don't include VAT/GST and duty + shipping costs until you start checking out. It's probably better for you to buy locally anyway.
