  1. Try taking the clocks back down to stock and play again.
  2. If you manage to get it set up once, unplug the pump's USB and it will remember the settings and you'll never have to touch it again. The hard part is getting it set up in the first place...check out this thread for info : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/12632-do-you-have-h100i-h80i-problems-look-here-before-posting/
  3. The one thing about Corsair link is that if you are running windows 8 or 8.1 you'll spend a long time getting it working properly.
  4. Well today I got 8GB DDR2 RAM and a barely used 500Gb WD blue hard drive from the company I do work experience with!
  5. I'd do an image of your boot drive every week to a second hard drive. That way you'll be able to boot to the second drive if the main one corrupts or dies. I'd keep any documents or work on Onedrive or Google Drive as well. For the imaging, I think Windows backup might be able to do it, or else there is a great software called Drive Image XML that is perfect!
  6. Get the Corsair CX500 or CX600 - the 430 would probably just about run the system but any future upgrades would be too much. Everything else is fine, if slightly low spec. Perhaps look at AMD parts for this kind of budget build. An FX 8350 and a GTX 760 would be a more powerful combo and around the same price.
  7. If your drive is in warranty return it, otherwise you'll need to buy a replacement.
  8. He says he has re-installed windows every month since then, sounds like a faulty drive to me!
  9. Can I image my SSD to a Logical partition on my HDD? And more importantly, will it bootable? I have unmovable files and can't shrink the drive in any other way.
  10. You a liable to stain the plastic, I remember spilling some on a old keyboard once, only to have the black plastic stripped to white :'(
  11. How the heck am I supposed to not use explorer! No, old HDD was corrupted so I did a fresh install
  12. http://amzn.com/B003ZZ26OK Not Exactly the same, but very similar! Will be the best you can get, despite the reviews
  13. As the title suggests, at random times my Windows Explorer (on 8.1 64 bit) is randomly becoming slow and unresponsive at times. The icons often disappear and it takes an age to load folders. Sometimes many of the links on the folder tree/ sidebar disappear. It comes and goes and can work perfectly now and then... Specs are in my sig, except for that the HDD is now for storage only, and the boot drive is a 120GB 840 Evo. CrystalDisk info says it is Healthy. CrystalDisk Mark is reporting 490 MB/s read and 450 MB/s write (Sequential) Anybody know of this issue? Googling has been fruitless
  14. Get one that lets you choose the frequency via a small LCD rather than one which has a switch with several options. That way you can make sure you can pick the most clear frequency to broadcast on. I had a Belkin one for my iPod before which was very good!
  15. I would love to see linus do more unexpected one cut projects because I find them to be the most interesting and fun to watch.Maybe a LTT2 channel could be used if you don't want to reduce quality on main channel. Anyway, thank you for being the undoubtedly best tech channel on youtube.
  16. Windows 8.1 will not boot on my PC, and it keeps starting Windows Recovery. I have tried to use Chkdsk and system restore but to no avail. Does anyone have any other solutions to get it to boot? I have no backup so would really hate to have to do a re-install.
  17. Guys, I still haven't managed to get it to boot, I have tried using all of the above suggestions. Any one got any more ideas?? Thanks
  18. Still no luck with it, does anyone know if hiren's has any tool useful for this?
  19. I'll have a look at that, but would really like to avoid having to do a reinstall...
  20. Restart didn't work, still getting that message..
  21. Tried that but got "There is a system repair pending which requires a reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again". I'll do the restart and see..
  22. My PC (specs in sig) appears to have died...Had it in (hybrid) sleep - with no power- while I was away for a week and when I woke it, it was sluggish and programs left on were not responding. Long story short I tried to sign out and the PC appeared to crash, (I only noticed when the post screen popped up) and now refuses to boot. It is stuck in a cycle of trying to boot, failing and then booting into Windows 8 Recovery mode - which has been useless. System restore did nothing, startup repair did nothing and the same with safe mode etc... Advice on the best step to take next?
  23. log in to windows and see if corsair link has any control over the fans
  24. My favorite part of the Z2 has to be the ruggedness due to it's water and dust resistance. My favorite part about dbrand is their attention to detail from the phone to the packaging
