  1. Yeah that would be fitting :p but it is for my dad, and I don't think he would be comfortable with hacksawing his way out of it unfortunately.
  2. Hi, I'll keep it short. I have the case "Chieftec UNI Series UE-02B Mini Tower", and I want a wireless card (WiFi and Bluetooth) for this case. The issue is the fact that it is 10,5 cm (approximately 4 freedom units) wide, so I can't seem to find a card that will fit. Is this just completely none standard or am I just bad at finding one? A side question if applicable, how do USB WiFi adapters compare to dedicated cards? Could that be a solution instead?
  3. Do you have a link for a heatsink of that kind? It might be able to help I am a bith unsure though, since the m.2 drive is mounted to the back of the motherboard, so there is not more clearance than the motherboard stand offs (actually a little less since the SSD pertrudes a bit from the MOBO)
  4. Hey guys I have build the PC you can see down below. It is the first time I've build in such a small case, aswell as used a m.2 NVMe SSD. I have an issue where the SSD runs at 70 degrees celsius, under moderately load. I don't know much about disk temps, but that seems high. The main issue is that the PC will shut down, and then turn on again right after. I have tried with a traditional evo 850 2,5 inch without any issues, so it seems to be a heat issue (you might have already face palmed at this, and yes i am new to this and therefore by definition a noob XD) My question then. Based on the case, is there anyway i can add more cooling to it? The only fan i have, right now, is the stock cooler for the CPU, since i did not know that the SSD needed additional cooling. I don't see how since the only place for case fans is under the GPU slot, and it would be very hard to create good air circulation in there. If i forgot any details you need please ask, and thank you so much for your time! Build: Case and PSU: Fractal node 202 with SFX PSU 450W SSD: Samsung 960 evo 250 gb CPU: Intel i3 7100 Ram: Corsair valueselect 8 gb ram single channel MOBO: MSI B250i gaming pro AC I am just using the integrated graphics
  5. Update through my blood sweet and tears i saw that the EZ Debug LEDs was lighting up. The first light from the top to be exact. I looked it up in the manual for the motherboard, at it means CPU not detected. I have tried with a different CPU (of the same model) which yielded the same result. The issue switches between not being able to POST with the debug light lighting up, to sometimes wanting to go into the installer and shutting of while in the "Expanding Windows Files" section at different percentage each time. The only differens I am making is unplugging and plugging the 24 pin connecter in (otherwise it wont boot at all) and changing what slot I have the single ram stick in. It dosen't appear that the ram slot has any effect on which issue is happning since both issues have accured with either ram slot being occupied, as well as I have tried to put two sticks in (the same model and size off course) and both issues still happen about equal. At this point 2 of the 5 PC's work without any issues and have been for about a week now. 3 of them have the issue(s) I am describing. I am trying to be as specific as I can hoping that it might mean something to someone smarter than me.
  6. Sorry I am a bit late on the reply. I have had to put that down untill today, because of a busy schedule. I am trying to install Windows 10, I got the wrong picture, tried with a different PSU, and i still have the issue
  7. Hey guys I am having an issue with installing windows on a PC i build. I have build 4 of them, with the same excact parts, and 3 of them worked just fine. My issue comes when I am in the screen i attached as a picture, it is different how far it reaches, but at some point it shuts of, and won't boot untill i pull the 24 pin out, and put it in again. It does not shut down in the BIOS after about the same amount of time. It detects my NVMe SSD and ram correctly, and the CPU temp is at about 35 degrees. I created the USB install medie (used Microsofts own tool) again, with no luck, but it did work on another PC with the same parts both before and after i did it on this. Do anyone have any idea what could cause this? Build: Case and PSU: Fractal node 202 with SFX PSU 450W SSD: Samsung 960 evo 250 gb CPU: Intel i3 7100 Ram: Corsair valueselect 8 gb ram single channel MOBO: MSI B250i gaming pro AC Thank you for your time.
  8. Thank you very much for the help, i think i have what i need now Well when there is only about 6 million people who speak danish, then you kinda need to speak other languages
  9. Yeah from all the comments here, I am more than convinced by now that the Pentium is a good pick, and I just have a "mental hurdel" to overcome. I have seen, as you suggested, a lot of bugdet builds using it (when picking parts for my own system), and kinda assumed they only used it because it was cheap. But a Pentium, no GPU and small form factor (passively cooled would be awesome) should be good. I know I posted in the CPU, MOBO part of the forum, but you might know something about it, if not that is totally fine i really appreciate the help you (and all the others) have already given. Regarding sound, is it worth getting a better soundcard than the intergrated one? He is using a pair of Bose speakers similar to the one in link 1. Or would the money be better spent on better speakers? And regarding case. I love the design, and passive cooling, of the Streacom DB4 (link 2), but it is insanely priced do you have any recomendations? Link 1: https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/speakers/stereo_speakers/companion-20-multimedia-speaker-system.html#v=companion20_silver Link 2: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5FY56S9979 I am sorry for my broken english, I am Danish, so the language checking I am getting here is for danish, so my spelling sucks
  10. Yeah I am getting a small form factor case, the only reason i was not sure is if he did need a graphics card, and then since i am so new to this, i would not be up for the challenge, but now that i know that he does not need it, i am definantly going for a small form factor. Money is not really an issue, so would the i3 7100 be good for the future, or is it just totally not worth it, i am a little aprehensive about the Pentiums, the first thing that pops into my heard when i hear pentium is "old and outdated", since the name has been around for so long, and i3, i5 and i7 have been standard for so long. I know it is not true, but yeah, you probably know what i mean. Btw the reason for not getting a Nuc, is that i want to practise building
  11. Thank you for the fast replies I actually use a i3 7100 my self, and I have had a good experience with that. So that might be a good bet. How about the internal graphics on the different models, are they equal, or are there any differences, I should take note of and research?
  12. Hello all you lovely people. I want to build a PC for my dad. He watches a lot of YouTube, cares about audio (not audiophile, but still he cares), multitasks a lot (not heavy applications, just word, mail, chrome, spotify ect.) Since he does not edit video, does not 3D model, does not game, and all that good stuff, I am thinking that he does not need a graphics card, and could runs of the CPU's internal graphics, am I crazy for thinking that? I am thinking a build something along the lines off: i5 or i7 (for his multitasking, maybe an i5 7500) 8 gb ram (maybe 16) Standard MOBO (or one with built in enhanced audio) possibly a mini ITX case if he does in fact not need the GPU. a fitting power supply a soundcard if it is worth getting (an external mixer or amp would probably be a bit much for him) I am asking here for your oppinions about the CPU, since i don't know how powerful it would need to be, and if there is any major differences regarding internal graphfics, from SKU to SKU, i should be aware of? As well as your generel suggestions, as you can probably tell, I am still new to PC building, I have only build one PC so far, so I am still learning. Thank you for your time
  13. Thank you for the suggestions guys it helps out a lot Don't know for sure which one i'll go with yet, but it is really nice to have some completed builds to reference while looking
  14. He he np if just put up a reply with a rough estimate
  15. Hmm the closest thing would probably be 500£ I would most likely be buying from the UK Amazon so that's why I say £, but if my needs would be meet for for example 400£ then that would be awesome or if I could get something much better for 600£ I would definitely consider that. (I think it would be around 600 in €)
