wolfmcbeard got a reaction from Lady Fitzgerald in dog thread
Pit bull, got him from someone who wasn't doing a good job with him, you could see his ribs and spine.
His previous owner wasn't around and had another dog that he said was greedy with food, there were other ways to keep him from getting that skinny, but he's a healthy pup now at least.
Here's a pic from his first day with us when he was 5 months old.
here he is after about two months.
The camera woke us both up, that said, I wouldn't trade Mistral for a thing.

wolfmcbeard reacted to TechyBen in How important is hyperthreading in gaming?
Whoa. Double post ideas batman! (Relevant:
)
PS, lots of misinformation and incorrect ideas in this thread. Meserial is correct.
Most i5s 4 cores with no HT will perform 90% of an i7 4 cores with HT if same clock speed etc. BUT HT is helpful. It's just not 100% increase on performance.
Only like 15-30% even best case. Some games will benefit, some will not. I can help if you are running Chrome/music/streaming in the background while gaming.

The backblaze failure rate results are pretty flawed tbh, best to take it with a grain of salt.

I can vouch for the WD blues, I've got six of them between 500gb-2tb, all still work but four aren't used since I don't have space in my pc for all of them, I have however had problems with Seagate drives.

Got the 2tb sitting on my shelf with the others, I've had it for several years as the D drive in several pc's.
Are you just planing on using an HDD or using an SSD as the C drive?

Nothing special, but it's cozy enough for me.

7010/9010/T1650 MT can use any standard ATX psu. Ensure the SATA power connectors are right-angled variety, otherwise you may not be able to close the case door if you have any 3.5" hard drives installed.
Some USB3 and HDMI issues/fixes described here

This is the most satisfied I've been with my desktop, I'm an indecisive person so this will eventually change again either from getting stale or me getting bored one night.

They are the same. Check your BIOS to see if the new CPU is supported.
Edit: You have to check the board maker's website.

wolfmcbeard got a reaction from 7850OC in ASUS AMD HD6570
So a neighbor gave an old Dell Optiplex 745 (Why do I keep getting old pc's?) and the thing is beat to hell and back, it had no hard drive, optical drive, or even a floppy drive.
But it did have a Pentium D at 3.7ghz and 4gb off ddr2 expandable to 8gb.
So I accept it as well a random GPU that I'm having a hard time finding drivers for so it will play nice with Ubuntu 16.04, if anyone knows where I can find Linux drives for this thing, I would appreciate it.
