  1. Thanks again (you've helped me with my first build like 3 years go ) for your help WoodenMarker. I'll just purchase 3 HD120's than. The Case comes with 3, so I've got 6 than. Fits nice on the fan hub/controller Maybe I'll post some pictures and results when its ready. Oh shit.. I just found out the Corsair 460X comes with 3 SP120 RGB fans, I'll have to order 6 HD120's I ques..
  2. Thanks for the help, but i don't think the SP120 fans are half as pretty as the HD120 are. I would just love to have only the HD120 fans in there... I want the build to be pretty silent, so will the HD120 fans on a H100I still keep my processor from getting baked?
  3. Thanks for checking hehe.. But when checking the pressure rate, the stock H100i fans pressure rate is 4.65 mmH2O compared to the HD120 which is 2.25 mmH20. Seems like only half the performance?
  4. Thanks FYI. I would have chosen the AX anyway, i've got an AXi now and don't really use the 'i' part . I've got the money, but if it doesn't really help me i'd rather save some money... Since booting etc isn't really faster I think.
  5. Thanks, i'll look into it and order a higher end psu. I thought that the AX was made by Seasonic. Yes, i've got a 1TB HDD in my current build. I know SSD's aren't as safe as regular HDD's, but i'll put important data on a External HDD and maybe on a NAS in the future. I don't want a vibrating HDD in my case anymore. The PC will be used for gaming only, so there isn't really much important i can lose anyway. Also not sure if i should buy a PCIE SSD, I don't think the differences are much noticeable in real life use.. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I've seen some test on how long a SSD's survives, and I do not think it's something I'll have to worry about since i don't move a lot of data.
  6. Thanks for your response you are right about the PSU cover, i'll take the RM PSU. The 460X comes with RGB fans and i want them to sync, which is possible. I tought the SP fans had a static color, i might pick those too.. Thanks for your help. I think i can close the other topic now. EDIT: the SP and HD aren't really the same.. but i think the differences are acceptable.
  7. Hi all, thanks for reading. This October I want to build a new PC. The parts I picked are chosen by looking at appearance and performance. It could've been alot cheaper, but i think this would be a nice combo. If you've got any suggestions/tips: they are welcome Parts: Case: Corsair 460x ( as soon as its available ) PSU: Corsair AX760 ( I could have chosen the RM, but because Seasonic is the OEM the AX felt a bit better, and its red ) CPU: i7 6700k GPU: ASUS Strix 1080 8G ( It's a little more expensive than the EVGA SC, but i think it fits the rest of the build pretty good) RAM: 32GB Corsair LED 3200mhz , 2x8 White and 2x8 Red. ( 32 is a bit too much, but i thought the color combination would be nice ) MOBO: Asus VIII Hero Alfa ( Moar leds ) SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 1TB COOLING: Corsair H100i V2 ( Or H110i depening on the next part ) FANS: 3x Corsair HD120 RGB with led controller. ( Not sure about this, please read below ) Regarding the fans: The HD120 RGB would look awesome in combination with the 460x Case, which already comes with 3 fans. BUT... I'm not sure if they are appropriate for the H100i v2 since the SP is lower, and they are also used for AF purpose in the 460x. I've also made a topic about this, which i really need some help with. IF they aren't recommended, I will take a H110I which needs 140mm fans. Just found out the h110i doesn't fit. Topic:
  8. Hello everyone, I'm going to build a new PC when the Corsair 460x finally is in stock. Corsair has also released the new HD120 RGB fans, which seems to match with the case. The Case already has 3 intake fans, which are RGB. So i would like to order a set of 3 extra HD120 RGB fans. 1 as outtake, and 2 for the H100i. Now i'm a bit confused, Are these fans meant for water cooling? It advertises as High static pressure but when i check the specs The stock H100i fans pressure rate is 4.65 mmH2O and the HD120 is 2.25 mmH20. It looks like the HD120 fans perform alot worse than the stock fans. The 460x case also comes with the HD120 fans, which seems they are for AF purpose? TLDR; Can i use the HD120 RGB for both AF and for the H100i? Thanks!
  9. I do wan't a bit higher PSU Watt because i might do some upgrades later. Sure 2 displays would be nice, but i don't have much room for 2 at this moment and i have a benq led display which is fine at this moment, i might order a higher resolution later. And the Fans i chose are not the regular SP fans, it is the quiet edition. are those loud too ? The g43 sure looks amazing, and i have been comparing these 2 before. But the Maximus has better onboard audio, and does not cost alot more than the g43. Edit: could also buy noctuna fans, but those dont look as good as the Corsair one's
  10. Okay also thanks for the information! Still wondering what is wrong with the H100i + SP fans While following your advise, my build is: http://azerty.nl/winkelmandje/winkelmandje/?legen=1&product%5B634348%5D=1&product%5B452185%5D=1&product%5B627367%5D=1&product%5B644269%5D=1&product%5B564541%5D=1&product%5B624110%5D=1&product%5B457358%5D=1&product%5B620105%5D=1&product%5B240477%5D=1&product%5B632818%5D=1&product%5B626780%5D=1
  11. Well thanks for your info! Okay, so i will take a i5. I think the ram on you recommend is a bit too low, i know i won't be using most of it. Is the h100I with the extra fans so loud ? i tought the fans made it alot more silent. Like i said, i do have a monitor already you have 2 PSU's in your build. I chose for the PSU because it has good reviews, is silent, and is compatible with the Haswell processor. Also i'm going for the looks a little bit. that is why i chose the maximus VI hero. + G.skill ram. ( might switch back to Corsair vegeance pro, i know it's a rebrand. but again, its looking great. ) And i am really in love with the 750D. When i made this build, i found this video which looks almost like my build when finished. and i must say that it is looking awesome. : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCqSFB1wWl0
  12. I't will be a i5 than, i don't want a AMD processor wont the i7 have any benefits with upcomming games/ uprgrades?
  13. Yes, i won't be doing video editing etc.
  14. Why? isn't ram going down by mhz when overclocking? Well, first i chose the i5 4670k, Andnow the i7 is because there's been told that the i7 will last longer with upgrades etc. (+ It has hyper threading technology, i am not sure if bf4 is going to use this. ) My budget is about 1900 Euro, i think price's are about the same in the USA. (1900 is already too much, a 290 instead of a 780 TI would cost me about 1666 euro ) I live in The Netherlands, and i will be shopping at Azerty ( you probaly dont know. ) I do have a 1080p monitor, which i think is fine. also i've got a mouse, a gaming keyboard, and g930 headset/speaker set. so i dont really need anything else.
  15. Well, what i am buying is: Corsair 750D Asus maximus VI hero i7 4770k Corsair H100i + Corsair Air Series SP120 PWM Sea Sonic X-750 v2 G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL11Q-16GBXL < 2133 mhz Samsung EVO Basic 250gb 2TB HDD Edit: I've been reading non reference 290 cards are not comming in november. instead they are comming in December/early Jan.
