BallaTheFeared got a reaction from Wingfan in Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***
Yeah this one will do 1225/1800, my other one will do 1250/1750 but at these clocks I only pull 174w during the test which I enjoy more than the extra fps
Here is my score with both, overclocked. I think this run measured 660w, do not want

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from yourdietsucks in raising screen resolution will decrease cpu bottleneck?
Nothing wrong with Nvidia in WoW, except two 780 Ti's in a 10 year old dual core MMO.
WoW bottlenecked on my 1090T @ 4.5GHz with a single 900 MHz 470 in high pop areas.
It shat all over two 950MHz 470s in SLI with a 5.3GHz i5-2500k. If you go away from people your FPS will shoot past 170+ FPS, you go into Stormwind for instance and welcome to 40-50 fps when there are a lot of people around.
Problem is insanely powerful GPU setup, coupled with trivial to run graphics, within a thread limited title.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from DaRk0 in MSI R9 290 GAMING or Gigabyte 780 GHz Edition?
PCGH refuses to use 8.1 despite the massive gains obtainable for Nvidia.
MSI Gaming is designed more towards silent operation, it doesn't have a lot of thermal dissipation compared to other aftermarket cards. The 290 is a pretty mediocre overclocker, and has a nasty power addiction. You'll be lucky to do 1200 with 1.4v, but unlikely to be able to sustain it with the Gaming cooler.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from Vitalius in Maxwell Architecture holds A LOT of promise.
TK1 has nothing to do with Maxwell, its based on Kepler for instance.
Higher perf/w is how you increase performance now. Both AMD are operating near the limit for cooler designs and PCIe specs.
250w single GPUs are as high as well probably see, so to double the performance of the 780 Ti Nvidia needs to double the perf/w like they did with Fermi to Kepler.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from Rheinwasser in gigabyte 780 OC vs gigabyte 780 GHZ
Backplate is worth a few bucks, but OC is all lottery.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from Jimstah87 in GTX 570 SLI Power 4K at Ultra??
I think 570 SLI would be around 780 performance, not 670/680.
However you don't have enough processing power to push top tier games like AC4 or Crysis 3 to Ultra, let alone the frame buffer to handle it.
So no, obviously ultra in some of the more demanding titles is out of the question. Dropping MSAA for SMAA would help some, as well as textures in a few titles like BioShock Infinate is pretty much a given.
Can 570 SLI game at 4k, yes no question, can it run every title at Ultra, nope.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from DeViLzzz in Did Linus skip out on a mantle patch video?
I wouldn't bother, both BF4 and 14.1 are broken.

BallaTheFeared got a reaction from Face2Face in Linus called us 560ti owners out on the WAN show. Shall we compare notes?
GTX 560 Ti 448 is probably not the card he was talking about, but that said even the 448 you're only getting a setting or two higher than the 384.
I think Linus did a poor job converying what he was trying to say, much like people who recommend lower end cards. That said even "Maxed out" is a loose definition at best, and everyone has their own idea of what that means once you move past actual quality settings and move into things like AA.
Is Crysis 3 on Very High with SMAA "Maxed out" or do you need 8XMSAA? Well is that really maxed out, cause TXAA is there as well.......

Frame pacing doesn't affect 6xxx series cards.

Huge bottleneck without a game or even a screen how are you even going to play?

The Linus review is going to be brutal on the 290x if the OC capabilities hold true.

You're using the word hype wrong.
Mantle is nothing but hype, G-Sync is something of definable substance.
