  1. Hey, I was thinking of buying a laptop (MSI gs63vr) with 128gb m.2 SSD and a 1 TB HDD. I had a spare 1tb m.2 SSD from a recent build I don't use anymore so I had the idea to switch out the m.2 SSD and take out the HDD. But I don't know if this laptop has 2 m.2 slots. I'm pretty sure it doesn't but is there any way of migrating the OS to the other SSD? or do I have to reinstall windows onto the new SSD? And will windows still be activated?
  2. Sorry for the late reply. It was just the stock paste on the heatsink. I've used a qtip to Clean off the socket but still no post.
  3. The abundance of the paste was taken off. It is barley visible anymore. If there is any more, then it’s in one of the pin holes.
  4. Do you think I should do a alcohol bath? Or just take a tooth brush to it?
  5. A few months back, my friends and I thought to make a hackintosh for my friends birthday. We made a parts list and went with Ryzen 3 2200g. We knew that we had to update the bios on our asrock b350m-e before the chip could work so my friend took his Ryzen 5 1600 so we could update. First, the cpu was stuck to the heat sink. I twisted it off and clumsy me dropped it. Thank god I bent the pins back and it worked fine. The sleeper motherboard and cpu works fine and it boots. When I tried to put back his Ryzen 5, it wouldn’t boot at all. All motherboard Leds are on and fans spin up. So I thought to reseat the cpu in the socket. Then I saw some thermal paste in the socket. I cleaned as much as I could get out then tried it again. Same problem. Not posting and it’s boot looping. His motherboard doesn’t have boot leds or a speaker so I don’t know what is wrong. Any suggestions on where I should start? I know for sure his cpu isn’t fried because it still works on the other board. Did the thermal paste fry the socket? I don’t know where to go from this. 6. This is gonna be a long story. Today, my friend and I started building a new sleeper build as a present for our other friend. So we bought all our component and started by updating the bios because it was required because ryzen Gen 2 cpu's aren't supported until a bios update. My other friend decided to use his pc cpu in order to update the bios on the new board. FIRST PROBLEM When I took off the heatsink, the cpu came off with it. I thought not much of it. I twisted it off but I saw the pins were bent. So I tediously bent them back into place and it worked. I updated the bios on the motherboard and everything was fine. When I tried to put his cpu back into his system, it wouldn't boot. Motherboard leds were on but nothing on the screen and the gpu kept turning on and off indicating a boot loop. Unfortunately, his motherboard doesn't have a speaker nor any boot led so I don't know what is wrong. SECOND PROBLEM I tried to reseat the cpu in the socket then I saw some thermal paste in the pads. I cleaned it up and I tried again. Nothing. I put the cpu in the other board and it worked perfectly fine. Any idea what is going on? Any suggestions? I don't know what to do. 7. I'll look into it, it seems like that would do it thanks
  8. I have this reservoir that I use both the bottom inlets for the in and out of the reservoir. I didn't see any leaks prior to turning on my PC but once I did, I got a small leak from the 2 ports. I looked around online and found this post so I went out to my local store and bought some EK block extenders. (I'll take a photo) After putting my reservoir back Into it's place, it still had the same leak. I found that the extender were not sitting properly in the threads. Any advise on what I can do?
  9. So I moved my benchtesting pc to a different desk and I had to take apart my whole loop to do this. But when I plugged everything back in, i get an eternal windows loading screen. I checked in bios both my m.2 ssd and my 3tb wd hdd was both detected. But when I booted the ssd, it was a really long loading time. It usually takes 2 revolutions of the circle but it took a good 3 min before it said something about repairing my D drive. After that I loaded into windows. My hard drive was displayed as drive D when I labed it as E and I named it Mass storage drive. Any advice on how I can get windows to load with the hard drive? Cause it still won't load my files. Thanks ~Jon If yall need some context, here is a video explaining my problem. Though it isn't the same exact hardward, it is the same problem.
  10. To be completely honest, I only have gotten MSI cards. (I had a 960 and a 750Ti) and they both still work so this is the first time I'm dealing with their services
  11. Thanks for the reply but i have alrighty tried my luck with trying to get them to pay for shipping. They said (i can't quote this but it was something similar) I would have to send it back and pay for repair.
  12. Its not just i don't like the company, I expected WAY more from such a big name company. I just don't understand why they can't do something so simple as Quality control.
  13. Yeah and its 2 months and about $600 I'm not getting back
  14. OK I'vE POSTED THIS ABOUT 4 TIMES ON THIS FORum AND I'M ANGRY NOW. Story time About a month ago, i sent a GTX 1070 EK X Back to MSI for a RMA. I paid about $20 for shipping. in about 2 weeks, i receive the RMA gpu replacement. I thought everything was fine, then i put it into my loop. Then i find a hairline crack on the base of the terminal. So i send it back for the 2nd RMA. Again, i paid $20 for shipping. and about a week ago, i get my second RMA gpu replacement. No problem physically but IT WAS MISSING THE TERMINAL. So i order a terminal from PerformancePCs for $15. It comes in and it doesn't come with screws. So my mother runs to the local Home Depot and gets replacement screws. I put on the terminal, and I put it in my loop. I primed it and waited about an hour before doing even connecting it to power. So the first thing i would think to do is check temps. Nothing abnormal but it was sitting 37c. Then the stress test comes in. I run fire strike. Not extreme, not ultra, but the normal one. And i get some of the worst graphical glitches i've ever seen in my PC building life. First thing i thought was to update drivers. So i did that and restarted. I run the test again but the same glitches appear. AND I AM OFFICIALLY DONE WITH MSI RMA. THIS IS COMPLETE HORSE SHIT. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO QC WHEN SENDING THESE RMA CARDS OUT AGAIN. EVEN IF I HAVE TO PAY FOR SHIPPING THAT'S BETTER THAN GETTING A NEW CARD. I'M COMPLETELY DONE WITH THIS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO? I'M SICK OF WAITING 2 WEEKS JUST TO GET A BROKEN CARD OR A CARD WITH A MISSING PIECE OR SOMETHING. I'm sorry i made this so long but I'm steamed right now. Like there is no reason for me to receive not 1 but 2 cards that aren't checked for problems. Sorry in advanced ~Jon Movie_Maker_8-10-2017_120034_AM_Low.mp4
